As good as this is, I actually think a better box is wargames Atlantic conquistadors. They are cheap from retailers like amazon, scale incredibly well with GW stuff (almost the same) and can be built as spears, swords men, halberds (if you get multiple boxes), crossbows, and hand gunners. And imo they look much better than the pike and shot models. There’s a few greatswords per box too so if you buy multiple and just allocate the bits in a smart way you’ll get enough of everything you need really

As far as I’m aware, this is honestly a better way to start an Enpire army as there’s not much of the range on the webstore until next year. Been a pleasure to get this video out for the community! o7

I kept my Empire Army from 15 years ago, I have about 12k worth, Im currently waiting to see if the new Empire battalion will be new minis, if so I will get at least two of them. but in the mean time I have 3d printed Demigryph's, some more spear men and war wagon from Highland miniatures. I have already bought the Warlord Pikes, used the pikes and the old 6th addition Warhammer fantasy empire troop body's for my Dogs of war army pikemen, they look really good. Haven't painted them yet.

Keep the Old World Content Coming. I love it all. This is one of the best deals I have seen since the late 90s, and it cleverly uses other Minis. I could see them picking up two cannons, a hell blaster, and shields. From there, I would play this list 10 times or so before I made any changes. It is an excellent way for someone new to the hobby to start WtOW. Great idea, and thanks for sharing.

I like these kinds of videos, but I think the most important information about third party miniatures is "how do they compare to the GW models scale wise?"
I would really appreciate some side to side pictures of the miniatures you suggest, next to the originals ✌️

I might get some but not for old world, for a kingdoms of men army in Kings of War.

Great video ... another reason is that not all player are min/maxers many players of Old World play the game for the Lore and the narrative

Thanks, for the hot tip. Just bought it... off Amazon .. That was an awesome model collection.. Empire Army was my very first GW product back in 1994.. I have an Empire Army but this can give me a new start with 30 years of painting experience and of course Agrax Earthshade. We dint have that in 1994 did we.. I should add that I have a very old Age of Sigmar "Start Collecting : Free Cities of Sigmar" Empire and the Exalted Gal Mazal" Empire with Stormcast Eternal Prosecutors and Evocators and 3 Gryph Knights. Hammer Hall collection. I have all 3 actually Dwaven and Dark Elves too. both unbuilt.

Can the models be considered good, if they are not dwarfs?

As a warning to anybody wanting to do ti they are quite slim figures they are nice but imho they dont look good on a 25mm they look on a 20mm what a gw state tropp look on a 25 apart from that they are great figures maybe kind of rigid poses so you may want to add some metals to use as front ranks

I just bought some Milton Bradley Battlemasters minis (GW worked with them on it). Debating between Empire or Brettonian Exiles, but if I go Empire, I'll probably get one of these for the Spearmen and Rifles.

Wasn't there a Hero Character, an Empire Engineer, that had a massive gun like that in one of the previous versions? I am guessing there is nothing like that in this version?

They are beautiful models I can really recommend, but sadly a bit too thin and small for Warhammer. They look rather odd in comparison, particularly when compared to other humans.

3rd party models are great! Good for unit fillers to add some diversity to your blocks. GW obsession with exclusivity is really artistically limiting

Unoptimized, fluffy Old World stuff makes me happy. This is the type of army I'd like to play against with my fluffy, themed, goblin army. Most channels' focus on maximized tournament play is a real mood killer.

I am all for alternative sculpts! GW is outrageously expensive. Victricx is also a good company for historical alternative sculpts for old world empire. They have good stuff for Bretonia as well.

Only thing that puts me off is the scale

Bit of a purest but that's for nostalgia reasons. Also I'm lucky enough to be able to afford GW prices!

I have a empire army of about 300 warlord landsknecht. I have the 100 year war archers, 100year war knights, and frostgrave cultist as flaggelants. English civil war reiters. The only thing missing from warlord are the fantastical elements such as demigriffs and pegasi

Not played in one of them, but I have always heard people say that GW and GW affiliated gaming shops will kick you out for playing without official minis. Would that not also hold true for these?

Old World has the best GW starter boxes, the best 3rd party options and the best STL designers. And you can combine the best of all three in your army.
