My 2006 5.9 is a great engine, all the power I need, simple, easy on fuel. Now, if only the truck was any good. It's like you buy a great 5.9 engine and they thrown in a worthless Dodge truck for free, because zero is about all it's worth.
Ответить5.9 for the win for me
ОтветитьWell, if a state does not have laws against it then how is the county or state police officer supposed to uphold federal law which is out of their jurisdiction? So basically FBI and some kind of federal police would have to basically get you.
Ответитьswap a 6.7 long block in a 5.9 truck. 😅
ОтветитьHear to brag on the NV5600. It's an old man bus transmission but it's going to last forever. South Bend Clutch up front.
ОтветитьThe EPA and diesel engines are absolute enemies
ОтветитьWhich headlight brand do you have in both trucks? Do they have enough light at night?
ОтветитьI've got the 06 mega cab myself. But I put in the 6.7 From D&J with Billet rods, and compound turbos, 150% S&S.Injectors, And a full billet ford 4r100 from BTS, transmission.. And 2018 laramie leather seats..1180 RWHP 1804 FT Torque. Absolutely wonderful truck.... And is completely streetable..
ОтветитьIt is for those reasons stated i went with the 5.9
ОтветитьABSOLUTELY THE BEST WAY TO GO IS TO FIND A WRECKED TRUCK WITH THE BIGGER ENGINE AND IT PUT PUT IT IN AN OLDER TRUCK THAT IS NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE THE ALL THE EMISSIONS ONE CAN EVEN TAKE SOME OF THE TAGS OFF THE OLDER TRUCKS ENGINE AND PUT THEM OVER THE NEWER ENGINE TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE IT WAS THE OLDER TRUCKS ORIGINAL ENGINE
ОтветитьYou have what I have had since new. 2006 3500 G56 MegaCab and I bought it specifically to avoid the problems which were unavoidable with the new 6.7 and its emissions at the time. It is now close to 20 years old and mine is just broken in at 253,000 miles. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьTechnically speaking though, you don't actually have to delete a 6.7 to make more power. There are lots of ways to make an emissions equipped truck both more reliable and powerful. That said, it's just a lot easier with an emissions free truck. More options. But new trucks definitely can be made really reliable. If you don't know how, you've missed a lot of good info.
New products are continuously being released to bring new trucks into the realm of reliability again. One of the absolute most ground breaking products are the Speed of Air pistons. Obviously, you can get those for the older trucks too and reap the benefits. The tech behind those pistons are the future of ICE:s. FASS have created a fairly new product that integrates a filter to your EGR, so if you got both the SoA pistons and FASS's EGR filter, you've just saved your emissions equipped truck from an early grave.
For some reason the early 3rd gen style is so nostalgic to me. I remember liking them as a kid. But, I'm probably gonna need to go with the late 3rd gen style 5.9 to haul 3 kids in with the mega cab.
Ответить8 just bought my 06 5.9 six speed. Love it. I will never buy a emissions truck again unless it is already deleted. Stupidest thing epa ever did was emissions the diesel trucks.
ОтветитьI sold my 05 5.9 with 750,000 to my worker 3 years ago. He loves it and still runs good. I kept my 06 and love it.
ОтветитьGetting a deleted tune for a 6.7 has been less than fun.
ОтветитьNice Loam Wolf shirt 🤙🏼
ОтветитьI live in Texas and there are SO many deleted trucks here it's ridiculous to even worry about it. Texas also NEVER checks emissions on diesel trucks or motorcycles. I'm looking for a 5.9 equipped engine simply because I ain't gotta mess with nothing. Most especially since now vehicle inspections are nonexistent except in high volume areas and counties, places like Austin or Houston for example. 4 inch smoke stacks will occur.
ОтветитьWith EGR. AND DPF causeing more fuel burn to meet emissions
How is running the world out Of fuel faster better for the planet
Doesn't make sense unless it is driven by OPEC 😮
Emissions delete; 6.7
Problem solved.
The only thing i hate its the smell, but i love everything else about diesel. Enough to endure the pain mine mk4 tdi is just for the sound of it lol
ОтветитьBeautiful truck! But don’t forget a kenworth will always pull a Pete 🤣
ОтветитьMy 2005 dodge has 1.2 million miles on 80% stock parts. I have head studs injections and pump with gale banks products in My truck and still blows the door off the new truck.
Ответить⭐⭐⭐🌟🌟✨✨💯
ОтветитьDetroit Diesel 6v53t will pull that pos past the scales. Poor dodge😮
ОтветитьWhat do you pull?
ОтветитьCouldnt care less if its 50 state illegal lol
ОтветитьI know this video is a year old as of the 12/3/24 date of this comment but I just now ran across it. That said, I am the owner of a 2006 RAM 2500 4x4 Laramie trim level crew cab short bed 5.9L diesel with auto trans. I purchased it used from a Chrysler/Jeep dealer in February, 2011 for $27K when it had 78K miles on the clock. I'm in the Phoenix area but the truck must have been a trade in from the original owner who came from Ohio. It had been used as 5th wheel RV tow vehicle as it still had the 5th wheel hitch installed, which I removed and sold. The previous owner must have put mostly highway miles on the truck, likely towing a 5th wheel RV of unknown size on average of 15.6K miles per year. So far it's been the best vehicle I've ever owned in 55+ years of driving. As a tow vehicle I've hauled a trailerable 25 ft cabin cruiser boat + trailer weight of 6,000 lbs four times on round trips of about 3,000 miles each from Phoenix to NW Washington State and back, plus a final one way trip from Phoenix to Olympia, WA to put the boat on consignment with a broker. Also twice to New England & back, and once to Huntington Beach, CA & back, plus numerous local trips to a nearby lake and back to the storage lot where we parked it on the trailer. That totaled at least 27,000 miles over ten years since 2014. Also we had an 18 ft RV travel trailer from the time I bought the truck until we sold it in 2020 that we did a 55 day/9,600 mile road trip in 2017, plus a road trip to northern California & back, plus numerous camping trip around Arizona, in all at least another 12,000 miles towing. After 13 years of ownership it now has 167,000 miles on the clock. In all that time I've had it professionally maintained by the same mechanic and it's been kept parked in our garage out of the harsh Arizona sun, has zero rust, and has never been exposed to harsh winter conditions for any length of time since I've been the owner. My late stepfather was a diesel mechanic who swore by Cummins diesels, which is why I purposely went with the RAM diesel truck.
In those 13 years besides usual tires, batteries, oil changes, coolant, and trans fluid flushed, and other routine maintenance and PM's I've had to have the A/C compressor replaced, the front end rebuilt, muffler replaced, and the crossover battery cable replaced. The back end of the muffler to tailpipe joint rusted out, likely due to the times we launched the boat in salt water. I no longer need a heavy duty truck since we sold our boat in September and have no plans to buy another boat and/or RV. I plan to keep the truck as a daily driver and for errands like dump runs etc because it's paid for and the registration fees are cheap. Going forward I'll likely be driving it 5,000 miles per year or less, taking it out on the highway now and then, maybe renting an RV camp trailer once in a while.
We've never done and hard core 4 wheeling. The 4WD mostly came in handy to 'walk up' slippery boat ramps in 4L without spinning rear wheels and on rare occasions in winter conditions in northern Arizona. The automatic trans has never given me trouble. We get about 19 MPG highway when empty and 11 to 12 MPG towing the 6,000 lb boat + trailer rig. And this is out West where 5% and 6% mountain grades are common.
I have my own channel with some videos of our boat travels if you click my channel.
Id like to see the comparison between a 2003 5.9 and a 2006 5.9 truck. Personally, I like the early third gen front end better
ОтветитьI have a 2005 5.9 and changed fenders, lights and a couple other things now looks like an 06,.
ОтветитьAlot of people swap those ugly double bubble lights out for the early style so dont go by that
ОтветитьIs that tablet a mod in your truck?
ОтветитьDeleted, runs powerful- zero problems
ОтветитьTrying to decide on a 2010 3500 with a 6.7, or a 2003 2500 with a 5.9
Any thoughts/recommendations?
Excellent video
ОтветитьThe 2002-03 Ram interiors are really close to 2nd gen level outdated but the 04-05 was definitely more updated than the 03-04
ОтветитьDeleted my 6.7 no problems since. Runs great, but it steers like a dodge lol.
ОтветитьOh, no! Not a 50 state federal crime!!! 🙄 pffft.....
ОтветитьYou're from California anything you say is irrelevant
ОтветитьMy dad and grandpa have a 2007 Dodge ram bighorn pickup with the 6.7 and my mom is allergic to diesel and she can stand right by the exhaust. Due to some 3 gen dodge Cummins came with something that re filter the fumes to make it cleaner
ОтветитьGive me a 98' quad cab 12 valve any day over any of the 3rd gens, but...with that said, that gray truck with the bronze wheels and 5.9 is sick.
ОтветитьWhat wheels are on the red one
ОтветитьBoth are junk
ОтветитьI have a 2012 3500 6.8 Cummins it’s emissions free and I live it
ОтветитьI like the 6.7 better since it’s bigger however I like the 5.9 due to the fact I can straight pipe it
Ответить07 5.9 with smarty jr and nadp heavy hauler transmission. Love the look on people’s face when I pass them pulling my trailer up a hill
ОтветитьUuugh.... y'all can have all that emissions crap... I'll just keep my 12v.... EGR on a diesel??? That's almost DEI level bs
Ответитьi have an 03 and dont see hardly a difference in the interior tbh..
Ответить6.7 > 5.9. especially without the emissions! for a 2011 with 250k had it since brand new. runs beautifully and never had any issues
ОтветитьI’m gonna end up getting a 6.7 here in Nevada and will just end up deleting it. The Feds can go f’ themselves
Ответить
