And what about the high SWR? Is the built-in protection in modern transceivers capable of protecting the finals? For example, when the cable breaks or the carrier transmission is switched on without an antenna.
Ответитьinteresting video
ОтветитьGreat presentation! Thank you or your prep work; it made the presentation much more undestandable and interesting.😁 KI7RJS
ОтветитьSo what do the food-grade pipe fittings and air lines and fittings have to do with a final amplifier? and I could go on! It sounds like you are making a video on something you barely know anything about.
ОтветитьA c1977 final is used as a driver in a ft 757gx2 to drive the four amplifier transistors in the pa unit⚡
ОтветитьC1977s were Toshiba careful thiers counterfeits i know for a fact they are from China
ОтветитьVery interesting
ОтветитьGood stuff TSA! 👍📻⚡️ Thanks!
ОтветитьSMOKIN… THATS MY FINAL ANSWER
ОтветитьGood info!
ОтветитьHow It’s Made ham radio style. That was great Ape!
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьIt's OK to call it a pill
ОтветитьWe have radio on chip transcievers that take all kinds of abuse. We had a great military grade stuff in the Navy that could take all kinds of megs of reverse EMI and survive. Even some of those cb amps will take that abuse. I maintain the problem is crappy fake Chinese finals. Toshiba can take a likkin and keep on Tikkin UNLIKE SOME OTHERS. lol
ОтветитьGood production quality on this one Mr Ape!
ОтветитьWith that being said, perhaps then the resale pitch for a 10+ year old radio “works as it should” would be rejected. This information proves that age, use, and storage (as well as many other parameters)do play a major role in the degradation of components; therefore, it is not by chance that a used radio of a substantial age, use, and unfavorable storage can fail. Which leads us to conclude that folks should consider buyer beware in their purchase of said “used” radio.
ОтветитьOh, I almost forgot, great informative vid!
ОтветитьNot all tubes are not created egual
ОтветитьWhen in the usaf, we told the newbies that if they transmitted and the output wasn’t connected to the antenna or dummy load, it would sterilize them. At that time their was no finals protection. Keying a mic without a load would blow the finals. Telling them about sterilization, which was bull, we had very few blown finals
ОтветитьOne day I’ll get around to replacing the MOSFETS in my extra Yaesu mobile. I’ve been saying that for several years.
ОтветитьHello, i purchased an old UHF all mode transceiver.
I noticed sometimes the speaker squeaks and hisses with sql on and off. Does that mean the output transistor is on the way out?
Thanks
Interesting, but how would a rookie KNOW if there was a problem with his finals? What problems does the radio exhibit?
