ОтветитьFor those who don't know, this is actually inspired by a real-life on-air suicide that occurred in my home state of Pennsylvania back in 1987. A state senator by the name of Budd Dwyer found himself in the crosshairs of scandalous legal problems for a crime he ended up being innocent of, but the threat of it to his career and his reputation was enough for him to take his own life. So on January 22, he arranged a press conference on live TV where, after giving a prepared written speech, he pulled a gun out of his briefcase, told everyone in the room not to panic in a way very similar to this guy here, and then put the gun in his mouth and shot himself in the head. Even certain details like the blood pouring out of his nose were inspired directly from that incident, which you can clearly see on the recording. Mr. Robot often likes to take inspiration from real-life incidents to lend realism to its scenes, and this is one example of that.

ОтветитьThis is a reference to Budd Dwyer, a politician who shot himself on camera after being found guilty of corruption (later exonerated posthumously). He shoots himself in the mouth and the blood pours out of his nose in the exact same way.
