TV OLED vertical banding test 5% Gray

3 day old 2017 B7A lots of vertical banding...wasn't there when screen was new
There is IPS tech coming with the contrast of OLED, I can't wait. Eizo's new screen shipping in 2018 will be the first, I hope the chinese pirate the tech copywrong. Because Eizo scammers charge 5k+. Since the trick in getting the contrast is a b+w and color panel sandwich...it's thick.

I tried this on my iphoneX and it shows a lot of vertical banding. I think its normal for oleds.

Your room has to be absolutely dark. 99% of all oled TVs have banding issues. If not by 10% then by 5% or 20%. Got my 2nd LG C7 yesterday. Again vertical banding. Before a had it by 5% intense... now I have it by 10%-20%. I have to call LG to replace my panel

I just recently bought the sony A8F OLED. I noticed a nasty vertical band on the left side during the time it was updating. I tried this test and almost passed out lmao fu@$ing terrible.... $4,000 tv and it's complete $h^t. I'm returning it for a full refund or possibly an exchange for a new tv as long as I can test it in store and as long as they deliver it and wall mount it.

I have my oled since 2015 (model ec930v)
I am very disappointed that since then nothing has improved in this aspect. I remember how I was disappointed as the first I saw it. I understand and sympathize with you, maybe the next technology will provide us with a picture without flaws.

Very little banding on my c8

On LG Oleds, at least the newer ones, if there is banding it is more pronounced when the set is new.
Once you have a few hundred hours on it the banding dissapears, or at the very least is undetectable unless you are using a special colored screen to look for it.

I tried this on a week old LG C8 65" in a pitch black room and am not finding an issues. The background is uniformly gray. Did I hit the lottery, or is this mostly an issue with older OLEDs?

Tried this on my note 9 and the screen is perfect. I know it's not relevant... My B8 has some banding... Will try and see if I can observe it while watching movies. This reminds me of Samsung Galaxy S2, one of the first amoled phones which suffered a lot from banding.

My galaxy s7 has it bad on the bottom and top edge but it gradually tails off in strength towards the Centre.

When watching this i don't see any lines down the middle of the screen (which is what i thought banding was) instead ive got this like bright white line running down the very edge of the left bezel.. is that what im supposed to look out for here?

On my iPad 6th gen it’s flawless no banding nothing. On my LG B8 OLED mild banding but you don’t watch 5% grey screens you watch movies and play video games. There you won’t see any banding. ps my galaxy S9 plus phone has banding too

I tested on my LG OLED C8 , it’s crazy. Crazy because of how much worse your camera picks it up than what is actually seen with your bare eyes. In my fully dark bedroom it is barely noticeable (slightly noticeable) . When I take the picture with my phone it looks crazy bad . Additionally remember that this is grey not black. Black is still pure black which no other LED can get close to. This gray you will maybe never notice in movies ? Unless the movie filmed a grey screen . Still good to know that OLED is not perfect and still can be improved

This S9 isn't actually too bad, there's a bit of banding but not that much

Dark band on right side of my iPhone 11 Pro Max OLED and right next to it there’s a slightly lighter band but other than that it’s all good. Only really noticeable in super dark settings. Doesn’t really bother me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm watching this on my phone and there is burn in - - battery and time icons also home back buttons...

Does it have to be perfect gray? My samsung got some areas a little bit black and there was a little spot that it was full black

Lg B9s 2020 owner here. Really minimal vertical banding. 99% unnoticeable by eye. Had to really try to get it to show up on galaxy s10 camera.
Only time I noticed the banding was in Last of us 2 sometimes when rotating camera in really dark scenes and still first I was not sure was it reflection or banding.

I guess I won the panel lottery with my LG CX65 😆. For what it's worth the manufacture date was also this month 08/20.

After about 7 years I bought my second OLED TV (LG CX 65 "). I was full of emotions checking the banding but finally it worked! The picture is perfect - finally I have the perfect TV. I wish you all also have great copies!

I have burn in on my phone which IS NOT oled. Badoo writing 😁 and it's menus also time and home and back buttons.
So my point is - - LCD also burns AF! I'm not even using at full brightness. I actually use 10-30% screen brightness.

Just tried on a replacement LG CX panel as I noticed a patch on the left side of my tv whilst watching a Netflix movie. With this Video I can see there are two patches on either side but the one on the left is significantly bad. I will try a few Pixel Refreshers from the LG TV menu and if no improvement then I will ask them for a replacement.

I can see the keyboard burning and I'm using a black keyboard ! After a year of use

Got a new LG CX, my first OLED panel, got banding and daker patch on the left upper corner.

By researching this, unfortunately seems to be very common amongts many users, so I'm not sure if returning it would solve the issue, I've read some poeple saying it can get better with time, is that true?

I can't notice the issue while watching to normal content and I really enjoy the vivid colors and contrast ratio.

My new 83'' A90J after 5 weeks still has big banding at 5 , also 1-4 are bad and redddish tint on that almost half of screen on that very dark greys , i running every day HDR content at vivid for 2 hours and let's see after 200 hours of this procedure whether those vertical bandings begin to dissapear.

LG CX 65 - No banding or burn-in after 2 years and 8000-10000 hrs.

Sony Bravia A80J OLED little to no banding unlike LG C1/C2
