In the 80s & 90s, New York City nightclubs provided a safe space for the queer community, the trans community, and LGBTQ+ communities. Not only were these clubs a space to have fun, but they were a place where people could be their authentic freest selves. Lina Bradford aka Girlina was among these groups, giving extraordinary performances. Her performances got the attention of DJ legends like Frankie Knuckles, Larry Levan, and Junior Vasquez — legends who then later convinced Lina on a dare to begin her own DJing career.

Eventually DJ Lina landed a 10 year residency at the iconic Fire Island Pines in New York, which has only recently come to an end. Today, with no end to the party in sight, DJ Lina Bradford continues to make her mark on the world, touring all over the US and Europe, and continuing to create spaces for others to explore their truest selves. This is the legendary Lina Bradford.
