"Baffle behind the artist"
ОтветитьI'm baffled!
ОтветитьBaffle the artist’s behind… got it…🎤
ОтветитьSolid advice- it’s the truth.
ОтветитьThank you, much needed correction to my understanding
ОтветитьFirst time I've heard baffling advice that was solid!
ОтветитьThe baffles in front are to diminish the sound of the singer after it hits the mic to prevent it going around the room, thus less ambience.
ОтветитьI have a Room that i can Adapt to Everything Imaginable ❤
ОтветитьSinger facing the corner or is the corner to the back
ОтветитьCardioid pattern condenser mics reject sound from behind the mic. Point the back of your mic toward the sound that's leaking into your recording space. Those mic stand, semi-circle acoustic shields are not doing what you hope they will. Don't waste your money.
ОтветитьThanks for all your tips, Warren 👏👍
ОтветитьOn light stands or mic stands, hang large moving blankets. 👍
ОтветитьI need to start doing this again. 😊
ОтветитьI’m so glad I found your channel bro you have such great tips ❤
ОтветитьI foamed out a closet and I hated the way it sounded on the mic. Then I just foamed my room fixing some issues and then have the mic in mid and it sounds way better
ОтветитьI agree, a baffle behind the singer is really preferred. But those "reflection filter" products actually don't work by blocking sound from the microphone, the idea is that you sing into them and it keeps some level of your vocals from reverberating around the space.
ОтветитьLol exactly, I always looked at those things and laughed. Especially if the mic is in cardioid.
ОтветитьYES Warren thank you, finally some good advice on this topic! This is so much better than those mic shields. A couple of moving/packing blankets in a corner will sound a lot better!
ОтветитьA walk-in closet with full racks works well.
ОтветитьEnlightened Zone
No baffling past 10PM
People always make the mistake of putting sound absorption behind and around the mic instead of the direction it’s pointed at which is very important also
ОтветитьBaffling!
ОтветитьHave you heard of Vybz Kartels song “fever”? It was recorded in a prison cell using a smuggled iPhone 5, and a jailhouse mattress for a baffle!
ОтветитьI built a vocal booth for my studio. I bought a very expensive microphone to put in it. I really don’t like how it sounds and now do vocals in my control room on a microphone that cost about 1/3 as much. In other words, don’t be afraid to try different things that may sound better than what you are doing now. And always listen to this guy Warren. He knows his stuff!
ОтветитьOr record in the bathroom. Great accoustics in bathrooms.
Ответитьearly reflections from the wall makes it bad, not the reverb tail
ОтветитьTry it with a closet full of clothes in your back.
ОтветитьNeeded this
Ответить1 XLR ran into the bathroom or closet. Problem solved.
ОтветитьWtf is baffle😂
ОтветитьThrowing some top level equations and algebra at the singer will also achieve a high level of baffling.
ОтветитьA super cheap trick for a speaking audio track;
Inside a car. Think about it.
Voices are so clear and little background noise (in a stil car!)
Maybe not an energetic singing recording, but for speaking; yea!!!
Wow that's really good advice
ОтветитьMeanwhile Tame Impala recording in his untreated house
ОтветитьI've crawled into my closet to do vocal takes and my clothes / all the pillows in there are an amazing sound absorber, it almost sounds as good as a sound booth!
