What’s the name of the thne you play during the introduction? Did you put that together? Super catchy
ОтветитьGot rained out today so I'm watching this on my tv... smh were slaves
ОтветитьIf you have a 2x6 wall and you need a shearwall there with 2-2x6. How do you include this 2-2x6? I mean just one 2x6 from the 2-2x6?
Ответитьin construction everything is a hammer, unless it's a screwdriver, then it's a chisel.
ОтветитьPotentially silly question but am I right in thinking that that untreated plate he originally nailed around the perimeter is taken back off and becomes a top plate when it’s marked up alongside the bottom plate?
ОтветитьCan someone explain why such big header over the windows? Like Wouldn’t a double plate of the 2x6 work?
Ответить@MattBangsWood what boots are you wearing?
ОтветитьI notice when you frame the walls the on the ground one side of all the framing is flush. Is it more important to have flush framing on the inside or outside? Recently helped with T&G on an interior and some studs protruded out more than others so we had a lot of shimming to do.
ОтветитьHow to run a air compressor correctly like a PRO? How to run a nail gun correctly?
ОтветитьThat circular saw is massive lol
ОтветитьThe price of gas and electricity is too high we must use Japanese hand saws and other hand saws. Also the air nailer is fast but mindless, missing placements, hard to pull out missed shots, over powering, danger ,terrifying, and the scare is counterproductive. A house is a family home, we need to build it in a peaceful, respectful, and safe looking way.
ОтветитьCurius that you don't require any bottom flashing or sill seal
ОтветитьMan seeing this really hurts haha. I've been trying to land a job in residential construction for about 6 months now. With no experience, no one is willing to give me a call back. I try to call into the companies I see posting on Indeed so I can talk with someone, but im always gate-kept by the receptionist! I just wanna learn the trade man, cmon! Tx NEED quality carpenters, but it seems no one is willing to train anyone anymore.
ОтветитьMatt could probably perform open heart surgery with his hammer and circular saw 👍
ОтветитьDo you watch the bow in the studs as you go? Does it matter for interrior versus exterior on which way the bow of the studs go?
ОтветитьAny reason you guys don't hold the headers up to the top plate and fill in below to the top of the window height?
ОтветитьHi, fairly new to the channel but I noticed you are using a pneumatic nailer is that still better than a cordless framing nailer?
ОтветитьI find it interesting how you use 4x6 for headers in cali.
I’ve only ever done 2x10 for lintels up here in Manitoba.
Do you owm the buisness
ОтветитьHello just found ya. looks like will be watching for a bit. Why the 4x6 posts, is it cost or ?
ОтветитьAre these walls plumb and level?
ОтветитьHey matt love watching you build, i was just wondering why you guys dont sheet before you stand the walls? And if you have tried wall jacks and your thoughts on them
ОтветитьHi Matt, what is the name of that spray again to seal the red lines during layout?
ОтветитьTop cripples are the bane of my existence.
ОтветитьWhy do the plans call for 4x6 studs in some places instead of doubling up a 2x6? Same question for the 6x6 headers? Is it a local code requirement?
ОтветитьI’m trying to understand these post connections in the corners
ОтветитьHaha, I don't see any woman doing this tiring work, and they still want equality, damn them
ОтветитьHey Matt. Big fan. Been following you for a while. Caught the comment about your thumb hurting. I had an issue with my thumb and went to my chiropractor. He used the Graston Tools on me and I got instant relief.
ОтветитьGood day, I'm looking at your videos . I'm so proud of you and your accomplishments. I enjoy each and every one of your videos.
Ответить👍👍
ОтветитьMatt what was that old school nail gun that you talked about in one of your videos?
ОтветитьWhat’s the temperature there as you’re working?
ОтветитьBang on
ОтветитьHey Matt! Another great video. So interesting to see how this works. I do have a question, if you've got the time. What are the pieces of wood you put between the studs? I'd assume they are to strengthen the wall, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, what is the advantage of using 4x4s instead of 2x4s for some of the studs? Is this also just for strength, or is this a different reason? What makes your choice between the two?
Keep going bro good stuff
ОтветитьGreat crew working laughing always makes the day better thanks
ОтветитьDid you check the concrete for being flat and level and cut each stud accordingly or just send it
ОтветитьNew sub here. You do great work Matt. Here in TX its blow and go, no one gives AF anymore, its a race to the bottom. I got out of framing, I mostly do remodels now, just about burnt out with construction but its all i know.. ugh. Take care, stay safe, thanks for the content.
ОтветитьConsidering getting into framing at the lowest level
I have no previous experience
What’s something you’d tell a newbie
Whats up with the floating trimmers? Don't see that much anymore.
ОтветитьSICK BACKFLIP
Ответить👍✌
Ответитьhey matt what happened to that one guy you had on your crew ? the big bearded guy lol
ОтветитьCool to watch how the you frame out west compared to the Midwest. Keep up the good work
ОтветитьAre those guns better than the new hitachis
ОтветитьWhats the reasoning of solid wood headers. I live in the midwest and we just use 2 by material. Just curious
ОтветитьWhy don't you slam the headers up against the double top plate and build the window opening down from there? I almost never set my headers at height if there is a size change up and down its easy peasey to change.
ОтветитьMy thumb was hurting into my wrist? Then I had this sharp pain say like just pushing a door open?
Diagnosis : there is a lining between your wrist and forearm where they meet? I blew it out and that very fine oil that lubricates that area leaked out causing pain in my thumb , wrist and just rotten pain!
Surgery made it better ?
Be careful I hv scars all over me I am a klutz !
