I find it truly amazing how far we have come in the last 15 years this sort of or esoteric film fantasy martial arts which people used to go nuts for has been ( thankfully) exposes as pretty much rubbish compared to legitimate combat techniques learnt in mma, the era of mail order ninja teaching manuals and flower fist dancing martial arts is over as the primary self defence styles to learn and that is a good thing, in my opinion.

The essence of Ba Gua is to avoid, strike and move so grappling with an opponent merely gives one of your (multiple) attackers to hit you while you are so engaged...

Authentic bagua lineages are difficult to find these days and once achieved it takes minimum a decade or two of diligent hard work with teacher to develop different body! Tai chi and xinyi are too in that sense. What you present here have no qualities of those arts and therefore shouldn't be called anything like it. I can tell that among people writing comments are those who recognise it and those who have no clue. In USA you can find communities practicing genuine staff. All one needs is an opponent who's willing to fully cooperate.. Without that, all chinese "martial arts" and aikido fly out the window.
