Thank you.
Very reassuring video.
I think I will be OK on my first trip next week ☺️
fantastic! thanks for taking the time to teach us newbies
ОтветитьHi Dan, all good stuff but I have to agree with Lee's video, I know we Caravanners never stop learning but surly it's safer to Reverse the caravan up the levelling ramp because of the brake override system, doing it this way insures the Handbrake holds firmly and also chock it just for extra safety and Pease of mind, iv always done it this way..just saying"!. 👍
ОтветитьLegend! I have owned a motorhome for a short while, but we realised a caravan was best for us. Having never towed or used a caravan I came across your videos. You explained things fantastically, I have written out a check list from your videos. Your Son has the same eye rolling as my Son does 😆 🤣. You have made me feel more comfortable and confident about making sure things are correct. BRING ON THE HOLIDAY! 🥳
ОтветитьVery helpful thank you as I’m very excited I’ve just bought my first caravan. Really enjoying your videos - very informative
ОтветитьGreat basic info, cheers
ОтветитьGreat video, thank you!
ОтветитьHi Dan, glad to see you posting videos regularly again. We’ve always enjoyed your content. Revisited this video as we’ve just purchased our first Alko wheel lock. We’ve been using a Nemisis Ultra up till now, but insurance company is stipulating an Alko….. So now to my question, are you still using the lock and level system, any advice after owning one, do you still think they are a good system? Ever thought of doing an update on some of your earlier content?
ОтветитьHi Dan, good advice, what I do is to recheck after a day or two, mite find the water in shower or sink not drain all, cheers Cobus.
ОтветитьGood clear instructions. Thank you
ОтветитьVery good information and easy to understand
ОтветитьThanks for this video Dan, excellent, easy to follow and understand guide, saved to brain-ache for future :)
Very new to this stuff & worried about winding the steadys too far down, think I geddit now :)
Just going to pick up our new caravan, never vanned before. This was to the point and helpful. Thanks.
ОтветитьFantastic video
ОтветитьDoes a caravan need power to take water through ?
ОтветитьA very usefuseful tutorial i never realised the front steadies were not connected to the chassis
ОтветитьWhy does everything have to be such a big effort? Now I have to go and buy a spirit level a caravan levelling ramp and ask someone that has a tow bar to help move it for me. Why can't they just put self leveling in somehow? I'm too disabled for all this.
ОтветитьThanks mate, very well explained and easy to understand.q
ОтветитьThank you, we are new to caravanning, and will be picking our caravan up next weekend, I’m confident with the notes I have taken that we will be successful.😊
ОтветитьWhat was wrong with your straight couberd in level ing it???
ОтветитьUnfortunately with my 2021 bailey discovery D4-2 using the mover to level up the van kicks over as it goes up the ramp ,think it's because of the short van / long A frame ,easier with a larger van
ОтветитьThank you an awesome video just what I needed in simple terms for a newby
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьAlways loved your videos. Cheers 👍 Here comes the summer 😀
ОтветитьVery good advice thank you
ОтветитьAbsolute gentleman
ОтветитьCan't u use the front chassis for "front-back" leveling (technically the chassis is the one that needs to be leveled so if it is not bent you should be able to use it)? is right near the front wheel so you can see it easily. (if there is a slight difference you can use a spacer to compensate a marked spot). This way is a one man job....
You can even use a small magnet level so you can easily attach it on the chassis at the front.
Very helpful video, just the problem of lining up for the alko wheel lock
watched many of your videos now and your son just reminds me of our grandson who's around the same age, its like yeah whatever, just get on with it lol. hope you're well
How do you fit an alco wheel lock to your caravan once your van has been leveled.
ОтветитьExcellent video x
ОтветитьVery informative. Well explained and easy to take in. Simple clear information, thank you
ОтветитьWell done, a great video, I am happy with levelling now👍👍🏴
ОтветитьIm just about to go on my first caravan adventure. Thanks for the videos, they have helped me a lot. 👍
ОтветитьThanks for the video. You showed that you used one corner foot, do you need all four? And if only one, then which one?
ОтветитьShould of watched your video first.. I think I've damaged the steady legs. I thought that's how u leveled it using them.
ОтветитьThanks for that Dan,first trip in our caravan tomorrow and I’ll be a lot more confident now
ОтветитьGreat advice, very good video, thanks
ОтветитьGood video, thanks. Regarding the mover being in the way: why not put the ramp on the other side of the wheel and drive the caravan up backwards?
ОтветитьThank you from a newbie. I though the corner steadies are for levelling. Will organise things before my big trip.
ОтветитьI have my first ever caravan and my first ever job to do it to get it out on its seasonal pitch. I to have come from a motorhome and have zero towing experience so I am getting the van delete site. My pitch dictates the van has to be reversed/ pushed into its pitch and the van does not have a motor mover so how to I do this? Thank you
ОтветитьVery informative thank you. We now use an inflatable pad for side to side. You drive onto it on the downhill side, make sure it’s positioned correctly then inflate it. We use an electric tyre pump for this. Front to back is as you suggest. I have also found that an app on my phone works well, it bleeps in a certain way when it’s not level and the bleep changes when it’s level. Otherwise our fridge door will tell us quits accurately too. If you open the fridge door and it stays where it is, we’re level!! We also find that an electric drill works on the steadies for us. We use one with a sensor like a clutch. When it reaches the desired torque it disconnects from the drive. That way you don’t over torque the corner steadies. Hope this helps.
ОтветитьTop bloke
ОтветитьBrilliant video, thank you. Needed to watch this as I'm new to caravaning!
ОтветитьDo the 4 corner steadys need to be tightened at any time?
ОтветитьCan you reverse the caravan on to the levelling ramp if your using a motor mover?
ОтветитьThank you; really good video. A little tip for the spirit level usage: you can check if the level is true by rotating it end to end and seeing if the bubble goes to the same place as it did when it was the other way round. Doesn't matter if it's level or not, so long as the bubble isn't banging right up against the end of the tube. Say the bubble is right under the left mark on the spirit level. Rotate the level 180 degrees and the bubble should now be under the new left mark (was formerly the right mark). In other words, the bubble should be the same distance from the centre point as it was when the level was the other way round. Once you have checked this, continue with the caravan levelling operation.
ОтветитьBrilliant. Just bought our first tourer and was confused as to levelling up. Put my mind at rest. Ta
ОтветитьIf your going to use an electric gun to wind the legs use a torque setting one with the setting low at first then adjust
ОтветитьHitch it off, stand back , squint, if it looks good 👍👍
