If I were you guys I would go with a Dana 60 in a 390 gear ratio because of the engine and the tire sizes that you are running, for multi purpose use of street and strip!

Keep the 8 3/4 rear end, use a 489 case and it will be plenty strong.

3.90 is probably a good year for that setup. Like others have said, that’s like a 2.46 with something like a 727 trans. Any less gear and you would probably never use 6th gear until 70 mph+

Need to set gear where you max out rpm in 1-1 for quarter mile then rest is gravy so if you shift at 6500 then set rear gear to mac out at 6500 In 4th gear wich is 1-1 with a 275 60 a 410 is perfect

Guess you could smack the panels on Tesla style, or like it looks your doing it. Properly! Choice of gearbox, manual is the cool one. Even if its more to do down down the strip.

I think the 8¾ will be fine, as long as you don't dump the clutch and get traction. Personally, I'd upgrade to a Dana 60 now, and save the time and aggravation of changing it later. Plus, the driveshaft will be shorter with the Dana, so that would cost more as well. 8¾'s are good rear ends, but Chrysler put Dana's behind big engine stick cars for a reason.

Quick search and the 6 sp. T56 is $3795 for trans only which is not bad considering the quality of these trannys. So you’ll be in one with clutch, flywheel! Pressure plate and bell-housing what another $2000? Kicks those freeway rpm’s way down for less wear and less fuel. 😊

411 or 433 will allow the weight of the car is very heavy and if you run these higher rpm rear end gears you will love it.

@cowboymusicstudio4911 - 03.05.2024 09:17

Also the short shifter is too short and you will want a tall shifter before your first road trip, try the tallest shifter you can find run a 8 ball on top instead of a handle shifter is not very comfortable on the wrist action.

Ответить
@cowboymusicstudio4911
@cowboymusicstudio4911 - 03.05.2024 09:21

try to get a full bench seat that is soft and comfortable and a long, curved twice shifter with a 8 ball on top, don't put in a console, gives you more comfort and move ability to get into the clutch and accelerator.
