Had to laugh about your comments on getting old, no budget travel, more needing a good sleep, no more all-nighters etc. I just got back to Toronto from Bangkok and think that I can't do this anymore. And I was lucky to have a row of 4 seats to myself on the trans-Pacific leg.

I've stopped counting the parts of my body that hurt. Easier to count the parts that don't hurt.

You finally go on a relaxing vacation to get out of HK, and then you have aggravation with this itchy room.
At least you found a great hotel just 2 blocks from the horror hotel.
I had an experience 30 years ago in Montreal.
I registered at a highly rated bed and breakfast.
When I entered my room, I pulled down the bedspread and saw a small spider.
Upon checking the room, I found a big spider in the closet that had a nest next to it with baby spiders crawling all over the place.
Front desk came to room and offered refund when I said I could not stay there.
They offered another room but I declined.
I flew out of there.
I found a big Holiday Inn 5 blocks away that was very nice.

Put all your clothes in a trash bag and burn them. Get new furniture replace everything if it's really bad

Next time you can sleep at hotel Grandparents, Aunties and Onkles 😂😉. My (husbands) family lives all around the city.

A good tip = if there are 2 mattresses lift the mattress, you never know & the mattress seams. Critters love those places. Have a better trip. Hope your audition goes well.

I’ve been to most of the hotels in Saigon. I was hotel hopping when I was there. And yes, you need to do your research and read the reviews before staying there. I’ve been to a few horrible ones because I was trying to save money. But sometime paying a little extra will get you a way better place. I try to avoid the smaller hotels and always go for the bigger ones. Like, Vincom, Liberty, Fusion, Park Hyatt, Au Lac, Hilton hotel are a great choice.

Careful you can bring home bed bugs
