The vivo has great hardware, but the AI processing of the telephoto is an abomination that must be deleted forever

In the end, it turns out that stupid consumers are satisfied with fake photos as long as they look like the real thing. Even if it's a family photo.
It's true that AI photos may be enough for cameras like smartphones, which require convenience above all else and only record facts.

For you to get a near prefect photo from the last gens of Xperias, you have to be in perfect lighting conditions and literally have a robot's hand (you can't tremble, not even slightly)🤦🏾‍♂️

what a shame... i dont know what they want so much money for. They hype the cameras, but actually things like dynamic range, stabilization and such sucks (for that money it all should be exmor-Ts and more polished imige processing). Its just overpriced slight evolution. I have no idea what they have been doing for the past year.
good video, not sure about the comparison choice, but it shows that much cheaper phone can get better. I hope the price will drop fast.

I'm still using Sony Xperia 1 VI, not even a year, yet. Gotta admit, I tempted to buy VII 😆 well, maybe later. VI still really good.

This phone is dead on arrival (DOA) and no one asked for it. I am a Xperia 1I to IV user. Super disappointed in SONY. Stopped at V and waiting for SONY to give it a bigger zoom sensor, but its now VII, they are still giving us the tiny tiny 1/3.5" sensor (even if it is the newer model). All other phones have leap from over SONY and have bigger and better zoom sensors. The SAD truth is SONY is losing $$$ and market share. They are selling less but needs high margin therefore are saving cost and giving us the 1080P display. This is because there are very cheap dumped stockpile of 1080P in the market (no one uses 1080 anymore) and SONY is saving cost. The 1080P SONY uses is not even the good quality ones. I laught when people say 1080p= more battery life. If you only need 1080, then there is another market segment of phones less than $500 for you. And this 1080 does not belong to a flagship. Also SONY has this year pulled out of China market and have lost the market there (it used to be the biggest market). This tells you how bleak this phone is. its only for die hard fans. I used to be one and moved on from it a few years ago when they had good phones. Now all the major competitors are better. I still love SONY products and have many of their awesome products. But Xperia is DEAD!

Sadly for me because of my gaming channel , needing a performance boost and i need a bigger wider screen than 6.5 for my hands i think my next phoke is almost certainly going to be the OnePlus 13. I'm 42 and had nearly every phome Sony and Ericsson ever made so its going to be really strange breaking away from them . I have the XM4 headphones so I don't need the XM5's zo 1400 quid is just too much to ask.

This was a total debacle for Sony. Dear Sony, but you should do what you can do the best - real cameras. We are desperately waiting for RX100m8! No one is interested in your mobile phones any more. I am willing to pay USD1500+ for RX100m8 but not for some underperforming Xperia. Sorry, that is how it is.

apart from the specs,... I prefer to not have the selfiecam punch hole in the display,... I prefer to not have slightly rounded edges of the diplay surface,.. I prefer to have expandable strorage option,... I prefer to not have the finger print sensor on the screen nor on the back,... and finally,... I prefer a Japan brand over every Chinese one, even the SONY phone is partially (or maybe fully) build in CN.
I have various other reasons, which others may not understand, for why I pre-ordered the Xperia 7vii... even the price, although admittedly quite steep, didn't stop me.

Loved the intro.. 🙌It would have been perfect if there was a bell ring at the end of the intro. Would have felt like a wrestling match between two devices.

I am currently using the experia 5 it has incredible camera hardware even for today but its poss processing lacks a lot

Sony really need to update the optical telephoto zoom, it loses too much detail compared to any of its rivals.

I've got the Xperia 1 VI and had the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 1 IV.

They have acknowledged to increase the aperture on the ultra wide, but it is the zoom that desperately needs updating.

Vivo may be sharper and more detailed, but in my opinion the colours are still wrong. (The flower is blue, instead of purple).Xperia takes some effort to get the right fotos and I often need more than one attempt, but there is no phone that comes even close to the color accuracy of Sony.

There should be a HUGE caveat for the faster charging with VIVO. It uses proprietary Flashcharge while the Sony uses the standard fastcharge most laptops and powerbanks support. So if you get the VIVO make sure to buy a few chargers.

4k panels were a huge headache. Battery drain, doesn't serve any major purpose, reputation of having green line in compact series.
1080p is fine, but instead of 1 billion color support, srgb coverage on a phone would be nice. And the 1440p psychologically feels better.
