Tourism is slowly killing the island, the salary is not high enough for people in madeira to afford housing, and due to the heavy amount of tourism and outside immigrants, the prices of houses increased around 90.000€ in just 2024, there is a drug problem where addicts lurk around funchal and its getting to the other areas in the south area of the island, crime has gotten worse, and ilegal immigrants are flooding the island, forcing their ideals and religion, harassing women, and living in deplorable conditions, Sure the island lives off tourism, but there is too much, there have been tons of videos of tourists disrespecting rules and walking in trails even if its not allowed, there are also videos of polution in tourism spots, areas such as ribeiro frio, before had animals walking in the roads, now, everyday that place is filled with cars and there is no animal in sight.
Madeira might be a paradise for many tourists, but for many inhabitants, its becoming horribly bad, there are already places like restaurants that refuse to speak portuguese, and it feels like the island is slowly losing its identity, the fact that its always gettong prizes for top best places for vacation promotes the island for more people, which means more tourism, and unwated attention from ilegal immigrants, both things that in big quantity are slowly killing the island.
Thanks for sharing your moments !!!!
ОтветитьFreshly Squozen what?
ОтветитьNext time visit porto santo island the best beach of europe , it's 50klm of madeira , 2h30 by ferry our 15minuts by plane
ОтветитьYou are so wrong about the weather. You got lucky. There is a reason why Madeira is so green.
ОтветитьThe problem with the video is that it is not really about the problem with Madeira (only a few seconds).
Ответить"Squozen?"
ОтветитьThis is hands down the best video about Madeira I have ever seen. Now I really want to visit. But i think a time when less tourists. Greetings from Sweden!
ОтветитьPsiu....Gapenaminhacapi!
ОтветитьHave been visiting Madeira for 22 years, and I have seen lots of changes. One of my biggest likes is going out to restaurants in the evenings, so many to choose from, some better than others of course. Back in the day most everybody dressed smartly and there was conversation, today, almost anything goes. It’s not unusual to see people out in a nice restaurant wearing shorts, flip flops, filthy jeans sometimes with this ripped look, vile, tee shirts, and of course the eponymous mobile phone, how sad it all has become. To rock up looking like a tramp, ( my apologies to folk that really are poor and cannot afford decent attire) is insulting to the “ house” . But, there we are, the age of manipulated society where it is “ cool” to look and behave like a prat.
ОтветитьLove her big ass
ОтветитьSame climate in the Azores as well.
ОтветитьBoohoo
ОтветитьI live in Machico Madeira, the people are fantastic! E.A.D.
ОтветитьWas on holiday in Madeira for the first time July gone. We absolutely loved the island, so much so we have already booked for next July, can’t wait to go back and explore more of the island.
ОтветитьThat plane landing! 🤣 Great sell, keep it up 😆
Ответитьthe problem is, that's no problem.
ОтветитьComplimenti!!!
ОтветитьAwesome video... got to put Madeira on my bucket list.... btw is that a Insta360 x3 you use for filming ???
ОтветитьThe real problem is the Government.
Ответитьamazing bobs
ОтветитьWhich month were you there? I’m asking in order to understand what to pack for a hike? Is it cold at the top of the mountain or is it still okay in summer?
ОтветитьHow can you complain about rising rents and increasing housing problems for residents and at the same time share an airbnb discount code❓️❓️❓️ Airbnb IS the reason for all these problems! You can see it all over the world in every popular city or tourist region. That's unjustifiable in my opinion. I would never ever book airbnb!
ОтветитьDon't use airbnb! It ruins every housing market and promotes tax fraud!
ОтветитьХуйня удали
Ответить'we can walk everywhere made me laugh so hard. Try walking from Canical to Ribeira Brava :p
ОтветитьMy mother and Grandmother were born on Madeira Island. My grandma born 1914 and m y mom 1936. They left the Island after the war. My Great Grand Father migrated in 1909 where my grandfather was born in Lowell Mass. He migrated back to Madeira in the 20s when his father died in a mining accent. He was summonsed to the Portuguese Navy in 1939 for the war effort. He showed them his papers showing he was a US citizen. He left to the US and enlisted in the Army and fought in the Pacific during WW2. My mother and Grandma came over in Mar of 45. For those who dont know the shipping lanes where shut down and the German U-boats patrolled the waters off of the Island. U 515 was sunk off the coast on 9 Apr 1944 with 43 prisoners by the USS Pope. The commander of that ship just happened to live in my neighborhood LT COMDR. E.H Headland I wound up with a 20MM shell that was engraved for the actions in which I know own. I plan on visiting the island. The house my mom grew up in is still in the family
Ответитьa very bad place to live if you like to travel with affordable prices or order stuff online which takes months to arrive and mostly companies dont even ship there .
weather is great just that.
Wonderful video. Just visited Madeira for the first time. I have to say the locals are lovely, nicest people I've probably met abroad
ОтветитьMaybe many tourists also go for Madeira since the climate in southern Europe has been unbearably warm the last couple of summers.
ОтветитьOh, you are wrong about the weather. It's very unstable. You never know what will happen in 1 hour and can be dangerous when hiking. You was just lucky.
ОтветитьI dont understand what's the problem...is it because it's becoming too expensive for the local people to live there?
Ответитьbalance is everything, ban the tourists for part of the time
ОтветитьWhat a fantastic video of beautiful Madeira, I've been many times and haven't been for 5 years, oh i do miss it, thank you for sharing your wonderful experiences ❤️👍
ОтветитьI really liked this video and how you've put it all together in here.
ОтветитьHi! :) My boyfriend and i are travelling to Portugal in June and neither of us can drive... Is it possible to enjoy the island without renting a car or is it better to stay on the continent?
Ответитьi am retired soon, i hope i can go there than
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this amazing and informative video about my beautiful home! I can't wait to go back this Spring 🙂
ОтветитьA very good video, shows the natural beauties, gives good tips and directions to visitors and also shows some of our main concerns. Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьI want to ask when did you record this video ? it was July 2023 ?
ОтветитьThank you for you for sharing! Really appreciate it.
ОтветитьSIIIIIIIIIIIIUUUUU
ОтветитьThe indiana Jonesy vibes are word for word why I went. Ill never understand the "dont come" comments. I come from a place with rediculously high living costs and one of the highest rates of tourism, ive never heard anyone tell tourists not to come, because we will go everywhere!
ОтветитьBecause Madeira has adopted Bitcoin, it is now on many Bitcoiners' radar as a spot to potentially move to. Looks amazing!
ОтветитьLove Madeira. Very respectful video. You did it justice. How many runs did it take to compile that awesome footage on the downhill basket ride? Top effort!!!
