Editorial with Sujit Nair: Why SC should act on Manipur issue

The court expressed its serious concern about the use of women as instruments to inflict gender violence in a region affected by communal strife.

The Supreme Court granted some time to the government to respond and take action. However, they stressed that the delay in addressing the issue would not be tolerated. The court acknowledged that the video was from May but clarified that the time difference didn't lessen the gravity of the incident. The judges found the situation deeply disturbing and called for prompt and decisive action to prevent such violations of rights in the future.
