I think this could be one of your best videos yet. It's atmospheric and the music captures the mood perfectly. I appreciate the effort it takes to set up the camera for ride-by shots, not easy in the rain. Looking forward to part two!

Bring a power bank and navigate via Google Maps. Turn the screen off to save power. Check a credible route since it sometimes suggests paths across fields etc.

Another great video Susanna. I so admire your positivity in the rain !! Navigation is difficult enough without the interference of poor weather ! I use BikeMap on my ‘phone and download the routes beforehand. I use a battery pack mounted beside my ‘phone to lessen the risk of no charge. It works for me but then I am usually lucky with the weather.

Susanna, what time of year were you doing this trip? And I am a leisure cyclist, semi-retired, and I want to go touring too. When I see people in weather like you were cycling in, I always think, what if Susanna had gone south instead of northeast? Could it have been sunny?😂😅😊

Brilliant as usual . Do you have a video of your kit. Love the poncho thing. Even with a Garmin I get lost in the rain and have to stop constantly on a tourer. Just purchased a C line and you’re truly inspirational

I’m watching your video in my micro camper at the end of a 3 week trip to Scotland, my Brompton tucked away under my bed … where it has stayed for the entire time 😂. Unlike you, I’m not so keen on cycling in wind and rain. Looking forward to part 2. PS. Maybe your husband should go into business making cycling capes - I’d buy one!

I use a lithium ion battery pack to boost my phone when biking. Works great, but charging phone and pack may be a problem for you.

Do you use a 500ml flask or 750ml for your coffee? Might seem a silly question, but I’m going to treat myself to one and just wondered if the 500ml would be enough on a long ride! Welcome back. We, your dedicated followers, have been looking forward to yet another adventure. Yes, I agree, there is something special about cycling in the rain, albeit not through an unknown city.
I solved my navigation problems by connecting an old iPhone to a battery pack and mounting it, using a waterproof case, to my handlebar.
I have thought about you often, and you helped me, as I struggled with medical issues after my last adventure. Thanks for always being positive.
