I normally mainly read thrillers. I read a mystery thriller by Agatha Christie (And Then There Were None) and it made me want to get into cozy mysteries! I’m excited to read some of these!
ОтветитьArsenic and adobo was my first cozy
ОтветитьThere are two cozy series that got me into the genre! The Aunt Dimity series by Nancy Atherton and The Library Series by Jenn McKinley! Both are pretty solid, very cozy, and fun!
ОтветитьI have read and re read aJanet Evanovich , Stephanie Plum series bout 4 or 5 times. I love grandma and I am team Ranger...sigh...I need a fan 😊 Her side kick is Lula. I didn't see the movie. I didnt wabt to spoil this series that I picture in my head. ❤
ОтветитьI enjoyed the Hallmark movies based on Joanna Fluke's bakery series so much better than the books ! She writes like her readers in maybe fourth grade to me. Hannah is a 30 something single woman and only gets a chase peck from her two admirers !
ОтветитьAgatha Christie would be horrified to think that anything she wrote might be compared to something turned into a Hallmark super confectionery production.
ОтветитьI was ready to like Stephanie Plum, but the first paragraphs in One for the Money have a deeply disturbing description of childhood S3x abuse that I found disgusting and very triggering ,and stopped with the book and the series right there.
ОтветитьThank you for making this video, and for having such a nice channel.
I'd recommend K.K. Beck's Death in a Deck Chair. It's modern ('84), and has fun and Agatha Christy vibes.
I love the body in the library. I have almost all Christie books. Some of them even in two languages.
ОтветитьWe used to call them "Who done its" and amateur detectives?
ОтветитьPatty-I'm an Agatha Christie fan an have read quite a lot if them. I also like Vonetta Chapman Amish mystery series, Victoria Thompson, Gaslight Mysteries, Diane Mott Davidson, Catering Mysteries and Sue Henry, Alaskan Dog Sled Mysteries. That's just a few of my my cozy mystery authors whom I follow.
ОтветитьKeep going you are so sweet 😊
ОтветитьThanks for your book recommendations!! Excited to try these ones!
ОтветитьSuch a cozy video, I love cozy mysteries but still need to read more on that genre, so these recs were amazing 😊😊
ОтветитьCozy mysteries are my favorite!
ОтветитьI looove Ashland , OR and am a long time lover of the Shakespeare Festival. I also love cozy mysteries but hadn't heard of this series. Now, I am very excited to check it out. I am super glad you made this video! Thank you. 🙂
ОтветитьI had no idea that these types of books had a name. I was out here googling 'books like Mary Higgins Clark'. lol
Thanks for the recommendations!
I love stephanie plum just finished book 29 got it for Christmas looking forward to book 30, I have read some of Joanne fluke from my local library I do own the DVD of murder she baked haven't watched it yet, I'm wanting to try other cozy mystery books and movies will definitely look through your back videos for recommendations
ОтветитьThanks SO MUCH!!! I just got Arsenic and Adobo and One For the Money. Looking forward to these cozies.
Ответить💙
ОтветитьThanks for your recommendations. My very very favourites are Churchill & Pemberly cosy mysteries by Emily Organ. A true delight and so much fun!
ОтветитьOh man. I just found you!!! Thanks for the recommendations. I have read all of the Stephanie Plum books and may start over. I also want to try Ellie Alexander’s books based on what you say. I like the amateur sleuth trope but I don’t care for the “bumbling cop” aspect. I love Louise Penny’s series in Three Pines. I also love Scotland Yard detectives but not books that are too gruesome. Anyway. So glad I found you and I’ll be back. Now a subscriber.
ОтветитьCozy mysteries are just so so comforting and unique. My favourites are The Churchill & Pemberley mysteries by Emily Organ, so much fun and so many desserts!!!
ОтветитьI just stumbled on your channel and subscribed love to find out about more cozy mysteries out here and the authors. I got into reading cozy mysteries during the pandemic and I became hooked....I absolutely love them! The first series I got into reading were several series by Amanda Flower and she became a quick favorite of mine I have read almost all of her series and currently have several of her books of 3 more of her series she has out. While exploring my local library I found the Isis Crawford A Catered Series which I love and the Hannah Swanson Series by Joanne Fluke. Now I find myself reading several series I check them out 2 or 3 books at time to read...lol I need to stay out of the library for a bit so I can read the ones I have at home....so many books to read and so little time.
ОтветитьHi. Any recommendations for cozy mysteries that centers around mystery bookstores with very simplistic English and written in 3rd person. If not first person would be good. And with twists and turns. Thanks.
ОтветитьThank you for your recommendations! I have all 5 on hold at my library and am excited to dive in. I came across this genre because I couldn’t decide what library book to get as a prize for our library summer reading. I got the Hannah Dennison “island Sister’s Mystery” and I got hooked. After a long dry spell of no reading I am hooked and finished both books in a week. Totally recommend, wish our library had her other series.
PS found your channel because of those books. Couldn’t get more Hannah Dennison so wanting to get into more awesome books. I subscribed and look forward to more videos. Thank you!
Trenton NJ is notttt the nicest part of our beautiful state! Lol
ОтветитьSo glad to find your channel. I am a newer cozy reader and appreciate the recommendations!
ОтветитьYour smile is everything I love watching your videos and i love the way how you explain things on your amazing channel I’m just now getting into the genre does the cozy mysteries books and series have to be read in order?
ОтветитьThis is perfect thank you! I haven't read a cozy mystery book yet and I was looking for some to read this Fall.
ОтветитьThank you for this list! I have been a cozy mystery reader for years and love seeing the genre become more and more popular. I started reading them because I could find plus size heroines easily. I got started with The Savannah Reid Mysteries by G. A. McKevett and the Odelia Grey Mysteries by Sue Ann Jaffarian. There are 20+ back log in the Savannah series. I also love Ellery Adams, Jana DeLeon, and Juneau Black
I love Agatha Christie as well. I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion but, I do not care for Stephanie Plum. I love her pal Lula, but her antics, every man wants her, and the love triangle just doesn’t work for me. (The cheese stands alone I guess)
Thank you for sharing your love of cozies!
Aw man. I have actually read all of these already. I guess that just means I have good taste. Lol
ОтветитьThis list is awesome! I've been exploring cozy mysteries but have only found ho-hum books. I'll definitely check out these reccs 😍
ОтветитьLove this show! I don't read a ton of cozies because I don't like some of the silly stories that some have. I plan to spread out into cozy territory though, this year. Thanks!
ОтветитьI’m so happy to have discovered your channel!😄 cozy mysteries is a genre I’ve begun to explore. You’ve definitely given me more books to add to my TBR!
ОтветитьCheck out spells and caramels by Erin Johnson it’s awesome!, love your channel!
Ответитьi love cozy mysteries! im probably 5 or 6 into the Joanne fluke series💙💙
ОтветитьJust found this channel also sounds interesting 🤔
ОтветитьAgatha Christie is my favorite but I'll definitely check out the Chocolate Chip murder.
ОтветитьI just found you and immediately bought ‘Meet your Baker’ because of your description. I had not heard of this author and am so excited to get started! Thank you
Ответитьthe body in the library is one of my fav cozy mystery! I just discovered your channel and I love your content. Your comments are very interesting and pertinent. You deserve more subscribers!
Ответитьi like cozy mysteries but mostly i could just listen to you rave all day!
ОтветитьI haven´t read many books from this genre but those books sound great. Amazing video, thank you 😊
ОтветитьLula & Grandma are life goals lol. I love Janet Evanovich books.
ОтветитьMy grandmother and I used to read each Stephanie Plum book when it came out and laugh together over the antics in each book. I've been considering going back and listening to them on audio from the beginning, because I stopped around book 19. For me, the series that really made me interested in cozies more recently was the Seaside Cafe Mystery series by Bree Baker. Even tho I started it in the fall, it's a great beach/summer themed cozy series with just a tease of slow burn romance, and the main character had relatable reactions to things and was a character I could root for.
ОтветитьLove Agatha Christie's Miss Marple!!
ОтветитьI wanted to love Arsenic and Adobo, but I could not. It was pitched as a humorous/hilarious cozy, but I didn't even crack a smile. I found myself agreeing with Bernadette more than Lila. Killer Content, Mimi Lee Gets a Clue, or A Deadly Inside Scoop are all sooooo much better introductory cozies from Berkley.
ОтветитьIf you like a long backlist and don't mind Victorian England, checkout the Mrs. Jeffries series (The Inspector and Mrs. Jeffries is the first one). There are 40 books so far!! I'm on number 30 so I'm finally on the downhill slope. 🙂
ОтветитьMy lovely friend. 🥰✨
ОтветитьThank you for the suggestions. I want to read a bit more in this genre.
