All the Green River current offerings are well-priced and really good. Will be looking forward to finding this one.
ОтветитьI heard an interview where Frank Sinatra mentioned Green River.
ОтветитьI haven't had the Green River. I prefer Early Times over Beam 7, even the Sazerac version. Can't get Green River in my corner of the world.
ОтветитьAll of the Kentucky liquor stores that are around me have been ramping up Bardstown products. There are at least 6 (good) offerings actively being promoted, and everything is $50 or less. Bardstown knows whats up right now...
ОтветитьReading the discriprion of Green River 1885 I see that Bardstown is positioning this whiskey as a bar mixer. From their website - "This unique bourbon recipe (mashbill) is presented at 85 proof, aged four years, and blended to taste with bartenders’ creativity in mind." Not a bad idea to get a low priced product into bars as a wedge to follow with a push for other Bardstown products into the on-premises marketplace.
ОтветитьI bought a bottle of Green River Full Proof the other day, and it's really good.
ОтветитьWild turkey 101 and buffalo trace are still the $20 goat imo
ОтветитьToo bad that you can’t not find the Green Rever on the West Coast!!
ОтветитьThe Jim Beam Winter Reserve or whatever is actually a decent upgrade over JB 7, if you ask me. It's finished in a toasted barrel but it's decent. It's a $25 bottle but drinks decent. It's not a great pour and probably gets dunked in a low proof lineup but in a pinch it's a passable pour. When I travel I don't often check a bag so If I buy a bottle I don't plan to take it home. Often I'll pop in a liquor store and find something cheap like a Redwood Empire, Benchmark Bonded, or similar to have some whiskey for the hotel room. There is zero chance I'd kill a bottle even if I was traveling for a week so I don't want to spend too much. The Winter Reserve would make the cut as something I would be happy to have in the hotel room knowing I'll end up trashing at least 50% of the bottle.
ОтветитьI haven't seen either Early Times BiB here, nor anything from Green River. But I really like the Jim Beam 7 year whisky.
ОтветитьIf they charged 40 the early times would still be a good value lol
ОтветитьGlad to see you two are still at it!! Stopped tuning in since here in PA we can't get anything you guys sample besides the simple stuff. It sucks!!
ОтветитьIn Michigan in Total Wine the Green River Bourbon 750 ml $34.99
4.6 out of 5 stars
Jim Beam Black 7 Year Bourbon 750ml New $29.99
4.1 out of 5 stars
Put this bottle on the app!!
ОтветитьAre any of the other Green River bourbon's worth the $$ ? Any one try the one's that are in the 30-35 range. We don't seem to have this bottle yet in Ohio
ОтветитьGreat video gentlemen, I will be looking for this bottle soon. Will enjoy comparing to my other Daily Sippers sitting on the shelf. I am very happy to hear that there are some distiller labels looking to the blue collar budget sensitive consumer. Lets be real as not all of us can afford the more luxury brands and labels as Trenton often enjoys! Smiles....
Thanks again guys and your coverage and content is very much enjoyed. Would be good to see Kent more often though as his interactions often with Trenton always brings a smile....
If you ever see Blue Steel from Fairhope brewing. Try it. Amazing sour. I don’t like sours but this one is amazing.
ОтветитьI DO like that Beam 7yr. I like it so much I had too much of it one evening...and, well....I was overserved. Still have the headache and it kinda ruined it for me. Hopefully I can bring myself to buy it again.
ОтветитьBest budget bourbon here in southern Cali is Larceny, only $18.99 for 750ml
ОтветитьTrent: I like a little grit in my stuff . . . take that how you want.
?🤔?
OG 114 is the best budget bottle I've tasted
ОтветитьI can get the one litre early times BIB here in Jax for $18.99 every day…. So good and a great mixer
ОтветитьI swear that Early Times is the most unicorn bottle in my area, I would buy it all day if it weren't 😢
ОтветитьWish I could find ANY Green River in the Seattle area. Still searching for the wheated. But I can find the Early Times for about $23, before taxes.
ОтветитьWe just went through Cody Wyoming , they sell liquor at a store that’s part of a gas station, they had blantons just sitting on the shelf like no big deal , at mrsp which is less than mrsp in Michigan not that you can get it here in Michigan for mrsp
ОтветитьI love the Green River line. Keep it up guys!
ОтветитьThe local discount store in the Baltimore/ DC area ( Total Wine) sells it for $38 . Where’s it sold for $21 near me?. Thanks and love your show.
ОтветитьLove it as always gents. Have you tried the Coopers Craft 100? I’m sure you have but I think it fits in this category
ОтветитьThis or Early times BIB?
ОтветитьLove Green River wheated bourbon but just picked the full proof. Very good!🤠. If I see the 1885 I’m buying. Thanks fellas👍🍻
ОтветитьI was getting down to my last few ounces of Early Times BiB, so was looking around town for it and NO ONE had it for over a month - almost 2 months. I managed to snag 2 bottles at a small liquor store I almost never go to. A couple places I asked around about mentioned the word allocated. If that's the truth - Sazerac is getting a little full of itself.
Ответитьso wish you guys were neighbors ... would love to just drop in or vice versa ... definitely going to be a good time
ОтветитьI love my green river ive went through several bottles so far 😂
ОтветитьGreen River released this targeted to bartenders. The shape is different from their other bottles to fit in the well and easier to grip. GR sees this as a mixer with a good flavor profile. The slogan is: “Make mine an ‘85”.
ОтветитьAll I heard was I like a little grit in my bourbon cowboy in a John Wayne kinda voice-love the budget bourbons. That Jim Beam 7 is great!
ОтветитьSo I just left Green River distillery. I was told 1885 was not gonna be for sale to general public. It was made for bars for a low end mixer.
ОтветитьI must be missing something. My store are selling Green River $35 a 750
ОтветитьThe Benchmark bonded & single barrel were my favs for about $20. Think this is better?
ОтветитьIs the Green River widely available?
ОтветитьI could see Green River releasing a budget bottled-in-bond "version" of their 1885 in 2 or so years. This could be a stepping stone into the budget BiB market for them.
ОтветитьTried the Beam 7. Not a Fan. Didn't really taste much difference.
ОтветитьWow I don’t understand how VA can have the full proof on the shelves but not this one, I’m still looking for ET BiB it’s so frustrating here
ОтветитьHaving not tried these three budget bourbons before, how would these three stack up against Buffalo Trace?
ОтветитьThey just widened their area of distribution this year, finally able to get it in Minnesota!
ОтветитьStill limited availability. Not available in South Carolina.
ОтветитьI’ve never found an early times bottle here in Nebraska. May just order one.
Ответитьdont like screw top bottles, they are just WRONG!!!!
put a cork in it omg !
lol
Green River founded in 1885
ОтветитьJust for everyone’s info, bottled-in-bond has to be exactly 100 proof, not at least 100 proof.
