I'm not sure why the reporter would regret challenging Karoline. It's a reporters job to ask challenging questions in almost every instance. Karoline's response was emphatic that the bill would reduce the deficit....however the reason the reporter asked it is because many feel the bill will increase the deficit. The question...and the response...promote healthy and informed debate...there is nothing to regret here.
