I'm a registered Independent, so I have no dog in this fight. However, when Mr. Powell left the Republican Party, I sat up and took notice. I was curious and surprised at that move. I left the party (Republican) after George W. Bush. My reasons are my own. My comment here is for Colin Powell. He was a giant of a man to me -- inspiring and steady. Mr. Trump, of course, is entitled to his opinion. I had nothing but admiration for Powell. May he continue to rest in quiet peace.

RIP Colin Powell. Thank you for your service to this great nation. And to Donald Trump I can say this…..you can go straight to hell.

In the 7+ yrs that Trump has been on the scene, NOTHING in his words, actions, behavior remotely resemble love/respect of country, proud American, true patriot, proud defender of the Consitition. If anything it is the exact opposite as his words, actions, behavior are more aligned with a TRAITOR. A sitting president attempting to subvert the same Consitional, democratic, Civil Liberty that he has sworn to protect is despicable. Trump, you never have nor will you ever be honored for being as respected as General Powell. He has been held in the very highest esteem of top heros in our country. I am ho ored to have been in his presence many times in my life. He was a true hero, gentleman and at the top of the pack as servant to our country. He will be missed by all who knew him@!

Trump would rarely say such a thing without reason. Like usual the media took it a lttle out of context and left out vomplete statements to show inappropriateness. I never teally knew Powell although we served during simular times and had the honor to be presented citations from the president through the department of defense in the late 60's and 70's. The military is only as strong as its combined leadership and Powell was a great leader within the units he commanded and Trump should never have been represented in a negative way surrounding Powell's life by the media. When its my time I hope they don't readress anything that shows a negative light.

I loved general Powell and all he stood for. I hate trump and all he stands for.
