Other honorable mentions are the spider-verse films
ОтветитьNo, I admire your brave choices.
ОтветитьNo Miyazaki but multiple computer generated films. I guess I'm just living in the past but hand drawn imagery will always be more beautiful to me. I agreed with a lot of the list but I'm sorry, there's not a chance in hell WALL-E deserves more credit than Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. I fucking love WALL-E, I saw it opening day but you're just lying to yourself at this point.
ОтветитьAs part of my childhood, The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie, a beautifully hand-drawn animated masterpiece.
ОтветитьThe Adventures of Prince Achmed: now that is an animated movie that I would like to check out sometime! I mean, that is one unique animation style, and I like it! Like... imagine the works of Harlem Renaissance artist Aaron Douglas: paintings depicting African or African American-themed subjects in a bold graphic style that resembles Art Deco. Now imagine those paintings were turned into wayang shadow puppets. I guess you could also say that while it could be considered timeless, it could maybe also be considered country-less, where you can't tell what country, or place in the world it could be from! Maybe the German titles would be a good giveaway, but other than those, it really does look like a stylistic hybrid of German Expressionism, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Arabian Nights, and Indonesian shadow puppetry. Like... it could be an animated film made using every art style in the world! And wouldn't that be incredible?

Maybe I'm a little prejudiced, but I really like 1954's 'Hansel and Gretel', a stop-motion film with British comedienne Anna Russell voicing Rosina Daintylips, the witch. It came out when I was two, and I'm told it was the first movie I ever saw.
ОтветитьHonorable mention (as it's not a move): ARCANE. If you haven't seen it, please do yourself the favour
ОтветитьHow could you have not included “The Triplets of Belleville?”
ОтветитьSpirited Away is amazingly beautiful.
Ответитьkubo and the two strings, loving vincent and your name deserved at list a mention
ОтветитьYou definitely missed out by failing to even mention “The Wings of Honneamise,” a Japanese epic that takes place in a sort of 1960s parallel reality on the cusp of its own Space Age, where the design of everything from cutlery to fighter aircraft is familiar yet wholly original.
Ответитьthis is one of your videos I'd love to see remade. Watching this back to back with your Best Animated Films of All Time list makes this script feel oddly brief and arbitrarily ordered. Your Movie Lists get better with every single release, and seeing how good remakes like Top 10 Dogfights have turned out, I would love to see this topic re-examined
ОтветитьI’m glad you mentioned Paprika, my fave.
ОтветитьThe King And The Mockingbird (1980) Should Have Been On The List. This Film Has Some Really Gorgerous Animation, E.G. Some Beautiful Shots Of The Castle, The Way The Characters Interact With Each Other.
ОтветитьWALLE IS THE BEST MOVIE I NEVER WATCHED BECAUSE WHO THE FUCK WANTS TO WATCH NO DIALOGUE ANIMATED ROBOTS BUT OH MY GOD HIM AND EVA, HIS MISSION, SAVING EARTH, HUMANS BEING LAZY ASS FATFUCKS AND OH MY GOODNESS IT IS GORGEOUS
i cried like a bitch and i loved it, great movie, 20/10
OMG the Owl movie, its like an unlocked memory, I really liked that movie
ОтветитьTomm Moore's beautiful films really deserved a # spot in one of these. Secret of Kells was already astonishing but they went even higher with Song of the Sea, this movie is 200% art and magical -which serves the story right, and if the video was more recent, Wolfwalkers would be a top contender too
ОтветитьRuben Brandt, Collecter.
ОтветитьInteresting list, discovered some new ones here, I'm intrigued by the silhouette film. I do think that there ought to be separate lists for 2d and 3d however, as the two styles and skills behind them are too different.
My no. 1 favourite has to be The Adventures of Little Nemo in Slumberland.
Also-- no mention of Don Bluth...?
Hmm I honestly think cg and 2d should be on two different lists. Cg is made by mathematically correct computers whereas hand drawn is more organic
ОтветитьThere are a couple problems with this list. First, it feels less like a top ten and more like a "hey, this these are ten unique art styles and we think this one did it best." Second, Pocahontas and the Lion King are fairly even, aesthetically, but Hunchback has both beat easily.
ОтветитьName the theme song
ОтветитьAs an artist, I feel "Heavy Metal" and "Grave of the Fireflies" never get the credit they deserve and are never mentioned in anything related to this topic. At least this wasn't a list of 10 Disney movies. Even THOSE miss the boat on "Fantasia" as a rule, so you wonder if they've ever actually even seen a beautiful animation before. This was certainly the best of these "Top 10's" about anything artistic in quite some time, so GREAT WORK on this, I just didn't want y'all to sleep on some classics 😎
Much love!!! ✌

hey where is sherk
ОтветитьThe man who planted trees is my personal favourite. I really recommend!
ОтветитьWhere the hell is Fantasia
ОтветитьAHHHHHH PRINCE OF EGYPT ISNT DISNEY AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ОтветитьI will put Lion King and Wall-E above the Lego Movie. Outside of that great list
Ответитьr.i.p. Ghibli
ОтветитьThat's a nice list actually! I'd have put Rango in there too.
ОтветитьPrince of Egypt is not a Disney Animated film, It was Dreamworks Studios.
ОтветитьNothing beats prince of egypt ... Let alone beating nothing comes close
ОтветитьYeah .... I don't like LEGO movie belongs on any list. Sorry guys. Not sold.
ОтветитьBest one is Lion King but best animated is Akira (1988) imo.
ОтветитьWhat about 'Renaissance' ?
ОтветитьMy favorite animated movie:
1.The silent voice
2.Your name
3 I want to eat your pancreas
4.weathering with you
5.demon Slayer movie
Prince of Egypt is Dreamworks!!! And so should’ve had a high spot on this list…very high up in my opinion.
Ответить10) For Disney I would have taken the Hunchback but I understand the Lion King
9) For digital the obvious choice is Shrek but hopefully that is #1, I guess but there are a lot of others to choose from. Wall-E was actually dogshit tbh
8) Obviously should've been Coraline. Coraline is a near perfect movie itself and has little to no flaws
7)this one actually seems cool I can't hate on it
6) Lego movie was fine, not amazing though...
5) No argument
4) Mononoke should have won easily....
3) No comment
2) Ga'Hoole is super underrated and I'm glad you gave it some recognition
1)Sooooo........... we are just gonna ignore End of Evangelion again I guess?
Wall E is the best for me
ОтветитьDoes anyone know the background song during the Garden of Words part?
ОтветитьDid you seriously Call Prince of egypt a Disney movie? I expected more from you
ОтветитьWow. Garden of Words at number one, before Your Name even existed. That's kinda crazy.
ОтветитьThe polar express: am I a joke to you
ОтветитьWhere’s shrek🐸
Ответитьwell, we need to update this list, don't we?
ОтветитьOnce again, not mentio of the work of Michael Ocelot. Disappointed.
