Hmm, idk, I don't buy the bit about construction material being made of biological remains. I say that bc bio remains are mainly water, with the remainder being carbon + various trace elements.. yet, things like floor panels, walls and so forth would need to be made of more durable materials including metals in some cases.. and there'd need to be a lot of that. Sure, if they want to keep the fountain and lakes topped up, sure, bodies could help for that, but otherwise, I don't think so.

If true... Does that make every toilet on the citadel a "Prothean toilet" because I'm pretty sure they need maintenance

I believe that the "monument" was built by Protheans. It connects only with Ilos. The circular parts of the Citadel I believe, are the Mass Relay part to dark space.

The Keepers would have been using more than Prothean bodies to create materials. Bailey mentions how many of the "duct rats" in the wards often go missing, sometimes found after falls or vacuum exposure....others just disappear.

The keepers are not making structural repairs with prothean corpses. The Citadel probably have 50,000 years of maintenance supplies on board. It's a big space station and they've been doing this for dozens of cycles.

I think they know how to store 50,000 years of doors and flooring.

That would not have happened if the humans would have been the first one to discover the keepers. Human would have wipped them out for no reason - specially since they look so harmless.

man 4 minutes of this video and it makes me want to play ME1 again. It was so cool to play first time and discover all the lore of the first game back then and it's so cleverly done. You first like don't pay much attentiont to the keepers but then realize at the end that even keepers have purpose in story.. and the music man.. you just don't get that same feeling of Exodus game even though it looks intresting

But that star child.. sorry but I can't just take things seriously what star child says :P

edit: and yeah I find it cool that maybe keepers were also just indoctrinated race from before like protheans

Even if Chorban's info was outdated, he still made an effort to save the Milky Way's races!

Given how drudging players find it to scan the Keepers, the Catalyst likely made that intentionally difficult to discourage races learning about them.

Not really. MASSIVE spoilers ahead..

The citadel is a relay. In fact, it is the only (known) relay that is accessible to dark space.

This vid is based on the presupposition that the presidium’s MER is the beacon(/conduit 👀👀) for the reapers to return from dark space, this is false

The MER on the presidium was the last(ish) achievement of the prothean empire-a way to access the citadel that didn’t rely on reaper tech (unlike all other MER’s we see), for the explicit reason of curbing the next (our) cycle’s harvest.

@Paragonseven I’m not sure if I’m missing something, but I thought this was covered pretty expensively in the first game..

As a molecular biologist, it's hard to velieve for me that no-one was ever able to study keeper biology. Wherever they go, they would leave organic material like cells behind. So why not study that? That's probably a point the developers didn't consider.

So, then, they are the Reapers' Keepers.

Jeepers.

This could explain Shepard's dreams, though. With the ability to process all those bodies, the catalyst can use prothean genetic telepathic communication compatible with a human mind. Is there any event in the series where keepers might have gained access to Shepard's DNA? Or was anything from the keepers or protheans used in project Lazarus? Medigel? It could also explain so many actions of those on the citadel: the council's refusal to believe, failed corrupt diplomats, etc: they are a form of indoctrination, but a different flavor than the reapers, just as the citadel just might be a different flavor of reaper, itself.

Correction to the how the Reapers arrive from dark space: they use the Citadel as a mass relay instead of the Relay monument. The Keepers still signal them when to arrive, which the Protheans halted using the Conduit, which the Prothean scientists created.
