Never been to the alps but I have been to parts of Germany and western NC actually does look really similar to Germany. Only thing that’s really different is the architecture.

Great place!! I had a 5 hour, dry-heave hangover at the Alpine Inn. Pretty sure we are not welcome back 😀

Just visited there today with my husband! We had lunch at the inn, and the food and the view WAS AMAZING!!! We only live an hour away. We will definitely be back!! Side note, 2022 They have upgraded and it looks totally different.

Beautiful area but I was disappointed to see the ice cream shop didn't specialize in Swiss brands. Breyer's and Jelly Belly, not very Swiss. I guess it's the look mostly, than the products. I still want to visit but it would be nice to see something more authentic. And no Swedish meatballs at the restaurant? WTH? :(

I've been up there one time. It was very beautiful, but I got stuck on this very narrow road on the side of a mountain with No guardrails. I took a wrong turn. And I could not even turn around for a while. I don't even see how 2 cars could pass each other on that road. It was way too narrow for 2 cars and it had these sharp drop offs down the side of the mountain. It freaked me out.

I was in a road trip with my family from Miami to those mountains in 2022 we visited little Switzerland it's beautiful!!!!!
Also we headed to Blowing Rock Town.
No daubt, Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, North and South Carolina also part of Alabama are packed of beautiful towns and landscaping.

Looks a lot like our honeymoon in the mid 60's.
We got the bridal suit there for the official termination of the courtship, which we did in the middle of the last century. No hookups, we had to do the courtship process. I was a graduating senior and she a junior determined not to let me get away. She graduated in three years. Well she was right. We lasted a little more than 60 years before I had to lay her to her rest up higher in the Smokys, whence she came. Always wanted to take her back there, but I never got it done. Wish she were guiding me. She always new what was right.

There's a town in Michigan called Frankenmuth. It is called Little Bavaria. It too looks like this, same architecture and same Swiss feel. You should visit it sometime.

You missed part of Little Switzerland. Down the road is our favorite place for a relaxing stay... Big Lynn Lodge! Do check it out and report on it! Wonderful place and has a history!!!

I live near Little Switzerland. This video seems like a commercial for the hotel there. There is nothing else in town, except for another building which has a couple of stores. I was amazed how little there is to this hyped town. Does not look anything like Switzerland. I have been to the Swiss Alps.

Beautiful. These mountains look so small compared to the mountains in my state. We have an “alps” kind of town too.

That part of North Carolina looks pretty impoverished. We were over there a few months ago but it was closed. Sure is popular but there are prettier and more interesting places to visit in North Carolina

There's a town in northern Georgia that takes it another level up...beautiful little town called Helen...worth a look. Just got a sport-touring motorcycle, and am looking at possible trips. Gonna add Little Switzerland!

We stopped there 8/2023. Switzerland Cafe has delicious food. Homemade desserts too.

Nothing extraordinary to be honest

Spent my honeymoon night there, and was distracted by a magnificent thunderstorm with lightening illuminating the valleys below. Fireworks of all kinds.....(wink, wink)
