"3 wands of gnomes levitation please" made me think of a wand of gnomes levitation as a type of pastry
ОтветитьYou're like the David Attenborough of GMing. =P
Keep up the good work. Homefully that neck brace isn't for anything too serious.
So essentially, we need good woody sounds in the names. None of that tinny stuff!
ОтветитьFellow Guy here, shouts out to the other Guys!
ОтветитьThe heisenberg uncertainty principle says that you can't know exact location and speed with direction of a particle at the same time. This is because the act of observing the object's location will affect it's speed/direction of a particle and mesuring it's speed/direction will change it's location.
Ответитьas a gm i cant help but laugh when ever you say " the players will pick up on it", great video though.
ОтветитьWould this you say this rule apply for a surname as well or maybe even a nick name? I am terrible at naming things!
Ответитьdid you did a video on rpgs music?
Ответитьyet another great video. just playing around with names has given me all sorts of ideas for characters and games. thanks for all the great videos.
ОтветитьI like to change the constantant (sp) as well if it allows me to think of a name quickly.
ОтветитьI thought he was going to say Heisenberg compensators basic function was "it knocks".
ОтветитьYou can also come up with a simple mechanic for a group of things or people , that allows for on the fly naming. For instance, in my current game there automatons, which are Self-aware machines. They are named by a poetic description of what their first sensation in the world was. "Breaking of silence", "Forrest filled with laughter", "Foggy Valley" and so on. Then, in practice, their names get shortened in a reasonable manner. So the first one is usually called "Silence", the second "Forrest" and so on. Gives it a bit of fluff and creates interesting names.
ОтветитьMy oh, My! Who's this handsome devil?
ОтветитьWe completely trust your judgement to get done what you need done but do us all a favor and never shave again. You're a beard man please don't ever neglect your pristine genetics thank you , sincerely your viewers.
ОтветитьYou look good clean shaved, player
ОтветитьHe used my real name as an example in this video. I feel called out.
Ответить"name for a water elemen-" me: "puddle, his name is puddle."
ОтветитьGindram's Denial and Gindram's Despair....a war hammer and a battle axe, owned by the dual wielding dwarves hero Gindram who alone stood against a horde of thousands of Orcs in the narrow passage of Gindram's Gate where in a desperate battle for the future of the dwarves kingdom he denied the enemy access to the pass for long enough to allow reinforcements to get to the battle. After the battle, he was found dead yet still fighting, his body still slashing after his soul had already departed, on a mountain of Orc corpses, having left only a mere hundred enemies for his reinforcements to content with.
Ответитьdude never shave again trim dont shave its so odd to see your face like that XD
ОтветитьBest name that I've ever had a player bring to my game. Richard Les Castratium.
Ответитьabsolutely love!! watching your videos!! thank you!
ОтветитьMagnificent sword of heroic slaying. Does 500000 unresistable damage to any hero that uses it.
ОтветитьI always have trouble naming my NPCs and my players always ask me for their names without fail. This is why we have a bunch of horses named Goddamnit, Bloody Hell, and Bugger. My cleric ironically yells as they're riding into battle, "Onwards Goddamnit! There's f***wry to spread!"
ОтветитьA kingdom in one of my games once built an industrial wish-granting machine. In addition to the large force of people who went around doing random good deeds to fuel the machine, it was crucial to make sure the Faustian Dampers were working to prevent the wish from being corrupted, as so often happens with wishes.
Jamming up those dampers resulted in a really bad time for the governing body of that kingdom.
Thanks! Now I know how to name my veggie burger.
Jibronie, now with dingle berries, thanks again.
This is a great one!
Ответить"Stop doing that guy"
"Never!
Room looks good, but you look very far away. I prefer the sat close to the screen look.
That said, I like the difference, maybe something to mix in occasionally;-)
Really informative video. Naming characters and places have always been something I've struggled with and your techniques will definitely help with that. Thanks and keep it up! :)
ОтветитьI’m a Brian. Thank you for featuring us in this video.
ОтветитьNever confuse the warrior Sangodrax with the evil sorcerer Zargothrax!
ОтветитьI always thought the concept of telepathic "mind-glow" names as used by the Treecats of the Honorverse was cool. This same sort of concept was used for wraith names in the Fandimonium Stargate Atlantis books, and adds an interesting cultural angle, where they take Human names literally (ie. Col. Carter is regarded as She Who Carries Many Things).
Ответитьbring back the beard :'(
ОтветитьWhen you re-roll for a new beard, does it start with the same experience that the last one did?
ОтветитьArya Stark: "Lots of people name their magic items."
Sandor Clegane: "Lots of Cunts."
I gave up on making up names myself.
I go to a random name generator and push the button until something I like pops up.
Simple.
wasnt heisenberg a nazi scientist?
ОтветитьA nice idea to use can be to just use names or naming conventions from different countries. i.e. Lily, which is a flower, can be a name in one country but would not be considered a name for a person in another. Just think Tik the warrior, named after the vicious little bird that picks fights with others constantly. That would sound ridiculous in a German-speaking group if it were translated but "Tik der Krieger" sounds exotic and strange.
ОтветитьThis is how to name your NPCs, etc
Me, a player: *names my PC instead * fool
Shaved! Shocking intro!
ОтветитьLove to see one on NPC naming
ОтветитьThis makes me feel I'm a student in a classroom. I definitely like the up close shots better. In this format, I feel like I'm more distant from the actual information.
Ответить“May be accurate but doesn’t make for a very good name” killing me
ОтветитьHave NPC names be descriptions of their role in the story. That also makes them easier to remember.
Also, for some unrelated reason, the party somehow never trusted the NPCs: Judas, Brutus and Killy McBackstab.
What a gem of a video.
ОтветитьThe real Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle basically applies to electrons. We don’t know precisely where electrons are at any given time, as they are too small to observe passively and move constantly. In fact, the visible light is emitted when electrons enter an excited state and release energy in the form of light when they jump between shells.
So Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle is an equation to predict the probability of an electron’s location.
I hope I’m more accurate, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been in a chemistry classroom
Relax, your description of Heisenberg uncertainty principle is fine: the less uncertain you are about a particle’s position, the more uncertain you have to be about its momentum. This is because position is primarily a feature of particles, and momentum is primarily a feature of waves (interestingly enough), and the more accurately you treat something like a particle, the less accurately you can treat it like a wave (any wandering physicists out here, please feel free to contest that explanation).
