They sell them here in Bali at surf shops

They'll wash off on your "last wave" or coming in. You get onto the reef in bare feet and try to put these things on? How? Sit on the reef? No. Sit on your board? No. Stand on one leg? Difficult. Lie in the water with your legs on the board? Getting washed over the reef? Sure they're worth a try but you will end up losing one or both of them for sure (many guys have lost tonnes of booties on all the Indonesian reefs, and they are the ones over the ankle and bound on!
