The referee is entirely in the right here, he does exactly what he is supposed to do and the reason why you can't do what you want ie just get tons of staff sent off each game to waste time is simply because failure to control your staff means the ref can make you forfeit the game. Something that was very close to happening this game as the man refused to leave the pitch. The yellow and red cards might seem silly to you but it's for the ref to show in the report after the game meaning, I warned them, I told them to leave, They refused so I ended the game.

I feel like a proud dad when I saw the box next to the door.

As a Medical Professional who works in sports medicine, I have been in situations where the ref was not calling me on and my athlete was in serious pain. So I ran on the field without being called on and get a yellow. Sometimes you gotta take one for the team but I always tell my coaches to do my talking in that situation because we dont want me sent off. I will just ignore the ref and go to my athlete on the ground.

I do watch a lot of Norwegian top division actually and SK* Brann (not Brann FK) is my local football team. And while you mention Sarpsborg is in relegation, Brann is also in gold contention. The Brann player who got a yellow is our newly made captain Fredrik Pallesen Knudsen.

This physio needs a heavy ban and warning from the football association, as does his club. And a general stamping out of all the time wasting and general shithousery that goes on within the game with injuries.

Players have cramp? Get off the pitch and the physio will treat you, lying down on the pitch should be an automatic yellow. You'll soon find that cramp has been cured! I'm especially ashamed at the abuse of the head injury rules, brought in in the last few years. Again, if its necessary for the physio to come on the pitch, maybe it should indicate the player needs to be subbed off. Maybe that's too harsh but I'm aghast at how rules that have been needed for years in relation to head injury, are brought in and immediately have been abused by the same people they were brought in to help, ie the players (shame on these over pampered young men).

And, unless the leg is broken, any more than 6 rolls on the ground should be a yellow.. that would have fucked Neymar's career!

This pissing around with injuries is slowly creeping into the women's game too, but I must commend them generally for being more manly about it than the lads..

not all teams have away physio,, so the home team have to provide.

I believe the first yellow was a result of the physio berating the fourth official before getting on. So he got two yellows for dissent. (His excuse was that being Portuguese, this is how it's supposed to be.)

As a phisio myself the rule in Portugal is that you get sent off and get a whatever match ban and your team pays a fine, but you have to stay on the field during the match in case of an injury to one of the players. But as I said this is in Portugal, don´t know the rule stands in this specific situation.

I'm curious as to what Zealand's opinion on the MLS system is. If a player is down for too long, they have to exit field of play for a minute or two (idk the exact time or rule)
