Phil Donahue, talk show icon and husband of Marlo Thomas, has died

Phil Donahue also brought his show to Cincinnati when Pete Rose broke Ty Cobb's hit record in 1985. My sympathies to his widow Marlo Thomas, to their close friends Alan and Arlene Alda, and to the family and many other friends.

Phil Donahue and Actor John Amos were both my favorite t.v. men to imitate. Phil because of his gift at intelligently hearing people out and answering questions succinctly, and not afraid to talk about anything.
John Amos because he reminded me a lot of my hard working Father who was a well balanced man who loved us and worked hard for us. And both of them died within 3 days of each other in August 2024 - that was a blow.
