Not once in my entire life ( and I'm gen X ) have I ever spent money on anything an internet ad has suggested. F Google.

AoL was never the internet for anyone I knew. We knew that once it was installed that it took away system IRQ's and that wasn't good. On top of that it locked you into some sort of weird sidebox almost sandboxed world. I had a local ISP that was cheaper, faster, and tat I could dial into their system and play on their linux box for awhile. Myspace was something I did on the side while I was doing everything else...

Alphabet has been needing to be broken up for years. Too big, too much power, too compromised.

There was a time I could search google for a simply question…
But now it has always become second nature to put “Reddit” after a query, just to get a straight forward answer from somewhere at least.

I have been warning Google addicts that sooner or later they would reap what they sow.

I haven't used Google Chrome as my main browser in a few years. I agree that it's too bloated.

It breaking google down damages daily life and structure, then thats just further evidence that it shouldn't have been aloud to have become some over grown in the first place... And further emphasizes the need to break it down now, before doing so becomes EVEN MORE Damaging ... Like cutting off a infected limb that has had to much time to fester...

Actually all other search engines use googles search database for results. They just tweak it slightly. So huge monopoly.. even bing switched to google search database long ago because their search engine lost. I doubt you find much info these days got to search a lot to find it. Google censors results and most search data Is cut off from searches. They control the content and they get Paid to show results that day lies about companies doing stuff and hide the rest. Its all pure censorship It's like china ccp internet hybrid there trying to convert too.

Google USED to have customized searches, where you could - (minus) things you DON'T want in the searches, and + (plus) things you wanted TO include, and you could put things "In Quotes" if you wanted it exactly like it was written. You could also use AND, OR, and NOT, just like you do in programming. I miss ALL of that!

I'm also tired of everything in the search being a sponsored ad. I don't mind GETTING ads - and sometimes, they're the best way to find what you want. But, they're also not trustworthy at times, since they can be hijacked, and send you to fake pages that look real. It's a risk.

Google will keep it in court as long as possible. In the meantime, more and more "updates" get pushed to worm chrome into everything google owns, so they can argue in court that without chrome, none of their existing software will work. Much like windows and edge.

If they're going to break up Google, I want Android to be its own thing. Or better yet, someone needs to create a competitive alternative OS for smartphones.

I don’t think it’s even on the table, but Google censorship must stop. They must stop shilling and censoring for the CCP and the Progressive Mob. The political bias is still palpable! Content and language that is permitted on national tv needs to be permitted here. It’s crazy that you can use profanity, but you can’t say many regular words in a non-gratuitous manner. News is censored if there is any violence in it - not R rated gratuitous violence, just actual news reporting. It’s idiocy. Etc. It’s one thing to censor pornography and gratuitous, extremely violent material and quite another thing that they are doing. The censorship is out of control!!

Alphabet/Google definitely needs to be broken into a few smaller companies with completely separate management and CEO's. And yeah I agree YT is feeding me weird shit when I check out other videos I am not subscribed to and it's very annoying. Also I am not getting updates in a timely manner from the creators I am subscribed to even though I have the all option checked for notices.
I am just not sure what other options we have for Web Browser's right now for Windows. As much as I can't stand Chrome myself Firefox is worse. So if a new web browser appears the only way I see it succeeding is through a paywall and I am not sure if that would even be possible.

I have and use Chrome on my phone. But all my pc's have Firefox. I used Netscape back in the day.
