The shotgun guard should indeed have been further back. As big and dangerous as Micheal was he should have had it lined up and ready to go. The shot from the female guard probably would have gone through and hit Micheal at that range. At any rate, she should have have been rackig and firing until she ran out of shells.

But why they tried moving him with only two or three guards is another question. Big crazy dude like that should have had a full squad, real cops not those guys.

I like Tyler Mane as Michael Myers but overall I don’t care for RZ’s vision of Halloween. The first one wasn’t bad but the 2nd one is TRASH!

I still think OG Mike is taking this one. This guy is bigger and probably stronger but he's still just a crazy guy to me. Original Mike is barely a human being, he's like something otherworldly wearing a skin suit and to me he's way beyond this Mike in terms of crazy.

Like this one is definitely more vicious but he just doesn't have the juice that the original had that's going to keep him getting back up. This guy beat up a guy the same size as him but in the original movie Mike yoked a guy up off his feet with his bad hand and left him hanging off a wall like a picture frame. That's why I liked Halloween Kills, you can't just fight Michael Myres, he's channeling pure crazy strength and unless you get him with some bullshit he'll just get back up.

That being said I still prefer this movie over Halloween Ends. That was some bullshit, there shouldn't be any version of Mike anywhere that just let's some skinny little dweeb snatch his mask off him.

You gotta find the Directors Cut of these, my favorite Halloween movie hands down

Like Jason, this Michael is a simple creature in a simple story -- there to just kill people in fun, gory ways. It's what many slasher fans like. The creative kills.

I'm not that kind of slasher fan. Still, For Me, I like this one for what it is. But let's be clear. It will Never, Ever come remotely close to comparing to Carpenter's Myers in any way, form, or fashion.

But it's not meant to. For one, there's no mystery to Zombie's Michael. He's a basic psycho. He had a bad childhood, snapped, and all that typical stuff we're familiar with.

Carpenter's Michael Myers? You have No idea Why he is what he is. Or What he is for that matter. And That's the true terror, the mystery.

Carpenter's Myers grew up in a peaceful, upper class environment. He was a normal kid. There was no sign of any problems with him, his family, or his life.

Then suddenly, one night, for no reason at all...

For 15 years, he sat in the asylum, doing Nothing. He stopped speaking and was a model prisoner. Even considered vegetative because he just stared at walls or out windows.

Then once again, on some secret signal that even Loomis can't understand, but knew was there, Myers Goes Home.

We don't know anything about Carpenter's Myers except there's an unsettling something about him we don't understand. We're unaware we need to fear him Because he's Not a typical slasher killer. We don't know what he's thinking. We just know he Is thinking.

Carpenter's Halloween is about suspense and darkness. Zombie's is about brute force and blood.
The two Michael Myers are extremely different.

I appreciate Zombie for showing us an alternate universe of what an ordinary brutal beast might be under the usual circumstances. It's scary.

Just try to see why Carpenter fans aren't into this.

To Me, this isn't a bad movie at all. It's not great. But it's not terrible...To me.

What makes Micheal Myers scarier in the original Micheal Myers film Halloween, he couldn't die, he didn't talk cause shadows don't talk, the meaning of the shape, you don't see, hear, or even know he is there, Micheal Myers is evil,

In this film Micheal Myers is human he dies,, that is what makes Micheal Myers the original more scary , he doesn't die in the original Micheal Myers film,

He is more human in these films he is dangerous

the original movie scene when Michael escapes is different than this one, the original is way better. the white c.o. takes his buddy and a crazy girl into Michael's cell and the c.o. messes with Him. And that's how He escapes. Michael's cell is decorated with masks!

Don't listen to people. This movie rockkkssss. Part 2 of this is ok-ish though. And a lot of people said that the Halloween H20 is not that good either. To me H20 is awesome. And if I remember you correctly you like H20 the best as well other than this of course. Rob Zombie Halloween & H20 is the best by far.

I absolutely LOVE that you love this. Rob Zombie movies are another level. I have always loved all of them.

Real talk the reason why a lot of people dont mess with Rob Zombies Halloween is because these characters were complete dog shit. I struggled to care about even Michael because of how annoying he was as a child. That hurt this movie to death for me.
Literally the only likeable characters in this movie are Laurie's parents.
If were just talking just kills this isnt even close to the top at that.

What is his deal? Just wants to kill random people and people who cared about him?. Not really in line with real life serial killers who have a specific purpose. Michael myers just doesnt have any motive. He was bullied....so what? What a baby.

Man i remember when i first saw this movie. Its so brutal. Great reaction, Mr Whistle.

Something interesting about the beginning of the movie, whenever William Forsythe (the step-dad, Ronnie) yelled, it had a quieting and seemingly calming effect on the baby. So Zombie had to find different ways of filming her cry and putting it over tracks of him yelling.

Another fun fact; When Michael and Big Joe Grizzly are fighting in the bathroom, the guys were trying to outdo each other so much that though the art department planned on using a fake stall for the fight so it would bend and dent without the actors hurting themselves, those guys actually destroyed the real metal stall. They both spoke of it with good humor, so I think they had a good time. And Ken Foree, the guy who played Big Joe Grizzly, was just excited to get to say the line from Cool Hand Luke.

He was raised in a destructive family. But that is not enough to explain what he did without Michael not being born a psychopath. But perhaps he would end up being a ceo instead of a serial killer if he was raised in a funcional family. xD

In the unedited cut, the nurse tells Michael, "Cute baby, couldn't be related to you," before she turns away smugly. And the way Michael escapes is because that asshole guard and his friend grab a new female patient to rape her in Michael's room. While doing so, they start wearing his mask and taunting him. If you ever watch this again just for the enjoyment, check out the unrated/directors cut.

It's not so much that part 2 is bad, but it's very very different. There is a lot of symbolism and dream sequences so it's very much not everyone's cup of tea. A horror reviewer I like who has waaaaay more knowledge than I do regarding mythology said that part 2 showed Zombie's incredibly knowledge of the Halloween movies, horror movies in general and mythological symbolism but that doesn't do the average person much good.

I agree that the remake fleshed out a lot more, made more sense, and he was absolutely ruthless. The first Halloween will always have a soft spot though and takes 1st place. This one wipes the rest of them hands down.

Gotta give Rob Zombie credit with the gore, no matter how big or small, when he delivers, he goes all in.

This movie is the best in the whole Halloween series.

Michael Myers is a 6’9 threat. The mask is arguably the best as well.
Seeing the origin story. The real build up of Michael Myers. & then it’s just a remastered version of the original. Same characters, story line.
What I appreciate is he’s stalking on FOOT!

It took until Halloween II (1981) to find out Michael & Laurie are siblings.
But, this movie showed a baby sister & revealed his motive right away!

The body count in this movie is 6x more than the original. Let alone it only took 20mins to tie the amount the original has. It was more gory.

The final battle between Laurie & Michael was more realistic! Michael Myers was not clumsy like Ghostface from Scream.
He was in full control the whole time, while she was in fear for her life!
