In Texas you are only required to of have your osha 10 or 30 for certain jobs. I took the 10 and never have I been asked for it anywhere. Here everyone is hiring you just apply at the company. In construction they are always hiring and you have a bigger chance if you have a license 🤷🏻‍♂️ lol

Just completed my 40 hour SST training. I’ve worked doing construction off the books for the last two years. Trying to get on the books and a steady job now. Off the books wasn’t as steady. I appreciate your videos. I will start going around to the job sites here in NYC and ask for the foreman. Hopefully I get in somewhere. I’m 23 and want to learn a trade and do this kind of work forever. Hopefully I find a job. Appreciate your advice. Just for the record when this video came out a OSHA 10 was required l. Fast forward as of March 2021 it’s now 40 hours in total!!

Now they require you to have a sst card I'm going for my 40hr sst card now, but my question is should I go for the 30hr OSHA card or 10?

Lol u don't speak to a formam he only represents the company not the union!!! The laborer Stewart u speak to first ,he then sends u to the union hall to talk to the business manager and a union representative the Stewart holds all the power labor wise on the job !!! And as for the vest the company supplies all the safety gear!!! Lol and believe me it's not that easy to get in the union!! Unless u know who !! The BIG GUY !!

Wear whatever you see the other workers wearing. Vest, hard hat, boots, tool belt, safety glasses etc.

I have my osha 40 scaffold 4 and 16 and just turned 18 but not sure where to start or what to do can anyone give me more advice?

I just finished up my OSHA 10 and I'm currently enrolled in OSHA 40 and will be complete by the end of this week.
My instructor suggested to me that once I'm done with OSHA 40 I should take the 4-hour scaffold. After coming across this video I'm also getting the flagger card. Can you recommend any additional cards I should get to increase my value when I talk to the foremen?

I was looking into possibly becoming a contractor. Obviously, in order to do that I would need to work a construction job; however, I was also wanting to take up MMA as one of my hobbies that could possibly turn into a career if I end up being good enough at it. The earliest MMA class starts at 7:00pm. Do you think a construction job would be able to fit my schedule, or are they too sporadic?
