Learned a lot from this video. I'm sure it sounds amazing! I have one question. Why did you choose a rectangular room (with golden proportions) when you could have built any shape you wanted? The reason I'm asking is that most software calculates rectangular rooms more easily, yet several of the best sounding acoustical halls in the world are in fact not that shape. Ceiling not parallel to the floor, side walls tapered (slightly wider room in front - narrower in rear), slight tilt on front wall etc. I get that you don't want to miniaturise a large hall due to the shorter distances and quicker response of a smaller space, I don't understand why we start with rectangular rooms. Why not the Epidaurus as the starting point?
ОтветитьJust Amazing! Is that regular shape with 90 degrees corners the best shape for an ideal room? I was thinking into more round shape and ceiling not parallel to the floor...
ОтветитьDennis you are amazing. Thanks
ОтветитьWow! Congratulations
ОтветитьCool MF's... I'd love to hear a room like this...
ОтветитьThis is the dream - I hope I can get here some day!!!
ОтветитьHi.
Are these the DIY plans for the whole project? I just purchased and I was wondering if I could get an specific guide and directions.
This is so inspiring to watch, i feel so good with this "dream come true project" , he looked really happy and pleased with this ultimate listening room. I know many can get jealous, but i am not, this is so cool, i just like it very much.
ОтветитьWould be cool to see an EQ spectrum of the room response
ОтветитьMan, that was inspiring and motivational. Outstanding esthetics, if only we could hear what you guys described of the audio performance. I've been watching your videos for while now, hoping to one day build a dedicated 2-C listening room. Doing the build out myself. Can this be scaled down to a smaller size room? What are the minimal dimension you can design to effectively? I like to do some preliminary planning to see what are my options and get an idea of cost involved.
ОтветитьAmazing...I would not be able to resist putting a big projector in there and having an option to watch immersive movies
ОтветитьAbsolutely Amazing
ОтветитьCan I please visit u and listen to it ? I’m so curious to hear such an experience 😁
ОтветитьWow
ОтветитьPretty impressive. Cheers!
ОтветитьI’d love to hear my records on your system. ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰
ОтветитьThe only problem with this room is the cost. I estimate it’s at a least $200,000, probably more like $275,000.
ОтветитьWill you be entombed upon your death in this room?
ОтветитьWhy no subwoofers?
ОтветитьWhy don't you diffuse by having furniture?
ОтветитьIt seems all the acoustic treatments from this company require almost every square inch of Wall add ceiling space to have a panel. I did see an amazing ceiling with wall-to-wall diffuser panels in the project rooms pictured herein which seems really cool. Still it seems that virtually all project rooms are wall-to-wall panels. To me this approach is a huge deterrent toward pursuing acoustic treatments. I am of mind to install some diffusers and absorption panels and bass traps which apparently this company doesn't like to do which is interesting, and call it a day.
ОтветитьWish I could give this another thumbs up. This is off the scales - just incredible. Congratulations!!
Ответитьcan i come over please? asking for a friend...
ОтветитьWonder how uncanny it is
ОтветитьI still have more time to save and create something like this. I hope when that day comes I'll be able to hire you here in the Philippines.
ОтветитьDefinitely life goals here 😊
ОтветитьCongrats! Looks amazing!
Looks like Hugh has an Innuos Statement there. I strongly suggest that he upgrades it to Innuos Statement Nextgen. Not a big investment, but a big improvement in the sound! I did the comparison during the Munich High end this year.
@acoustic sounds and Hugh, congrats!!
I am considering purchasing a Gryphon Trident II. Could you give some feedback about it? Are the top frequencies open or a bit closed? How is the body, dinamics, detail, timbre, etc? Thanks
What are those speakers? They are seriously beautiful. I’m a novice so excuse the silly question 🙋♂️
ОтветитьWhy the swivels vs hinges? I always do hinges that’s how I’ll do mine
ОтветитьWow looks amazing!! Is the formula different for a home theater room? I’m glad I stumbled upon this video before I invested a lot of money into bass traps. Would love your advice for my room. How do I get in contact with you?
ОтветитьOutstanding!
ОтветитьMust be nice to have that much money.
ОтветитьI don't understand the science, but it clearly works . As a tradesman I wish I could work on jobs like this to Test my skills, it is very rare that a client actually lets me be a craftsman, A lot of respect for this man to build his vision and exceed his expectations.
ОтветитьWow
ОтветитьLooking awesome! Enjoy listening to a lot of music!
By the looks of it the owner prefers digital or he's not caught the analogue bug yet?
One big advantage about digital is of course that it requires less gear and that leaves more money to spend on room improvement.
Seems this is only for people who have $50+ to spend on a studio. If anyone has an idea for people of modest means to make a simple recording studio I'd love to hear. Thanks
Ответитьuh I see the point, but I would be worried about early reflections even from the diffusion behind the speakers....very little absorption on the ceiling etc
ОтветитьDoes anyone know the internal dimensions of the room? We have one dimension 12' high.
ОтветитьThe room looks unbelieable. Very inspiring for me personally.
Question: So if this is for stereo listening what would a Dolby Atmos listening room look like? For music and movies.
The room sounds really echoey in the video. Ha-ha! Obviously joking. Great work, fellas!
But seriously, this is not good for me. My wife has been trying to get us into a new house for a few years, but I've been fighting it for a lot of various reasons, not the least of which is the amount of time and money I've spent designing, building, and retrofitting custom solutions and furniture (including a huge built-in bar with integrated AV), all by myself, into my current basement mancave (theater, pool room & bar, gym, and my office). I've also built a ton of acoustic solutions to try to make the best out of the pre-finished basement in an attempt to counter its less-than-ideal dimensions, single-layer drywall, etc. However, this video has just me realize that unless I completely gut my basement and start from scratch, including reframing everything for better decoupled dimensions, etc. (not feasible), I'm really just putting lipstick on a pig.
This video accomplished what my wife couldn't... it made me actually want a new house. However, unlike my wife, I'll want to have it built from scratch, to my exacting specs, so I can spend the next 10+ years of my life trying to build something like this wonderful room. Sigh.
So, could we get some sort of ballpark on the kind of money we’re talking about here? I’m curious as to how much it costs just for the design and plans. Are we talking only a couple grand, or does that sort of information/design cost upwards of 10k,20k? I’m genuinely curious.
ОтветитьAmazing
ОтветитьAWESOME VIDEO. I am VERY happy for your both, brought a huge smile to my face. And it goes without saying, but still well worth saying. Well Done to you both! I can only imagine listening to Steely Dan, or Pink Floyd in there! WOW. (and I am not by any stretch and audiophile, I know nothing.)
ОтветитьDennis, in my room, the band always sounds like they are midgets. What do I need to change? I have bookshelf speakers about 38 inches high pulled about 24 inches away from the front wall. But the sound is seldom more than 30 inches off the floor. I tried raising the speakers up higher. That only made some instruments higher, but other instruments were still very low along the front wall. That didn't sound natural at all. I do have great left-to-right imaging and can pinpoint the locations of each instrument. Suggestions?
ОтветитьEvery Audiophile says "It's about the Music." 🙄
ОтветитьWow! this guy isn't messin' about! What a room.
ОтветитьPlease do a video explaining the basics of how this works. This was mostly explaining how great the result is. Are those diffusers or absorbers behind the speaksers, or a combo? Why are they only behind while there are absorbers on the walls? Why that number of absorbers and why that placement of absorbers on the walls? Are you trying to just cover a certain percentage of the wall? What about the floor and cieling? I understand you're trying to make the speakers disappear and that it sounds great but that's the end of what I understand.
