You're giving me ideas now.

Idea 1: Enter or leave London using every TOC that goes there. Travel within London is allowed only on foot, boat, or cable car; so you'd mostly be circumscribing London, dipping inside for the shortest time possible before leaving again.

Idea 2: TOC lockout bingo. Use one of those bingo apps that lets you play against someone else, and give it a list of all the TOCs in the country plus a couple of wildcard options like "model railway", "any trainbow" or "walk along a disused line". The app picks 25 at random, you both find out which ones they are at the same time, and the 'winner' is whoever can ride most of them within the time limit.

As you probably know, actual Train Operating Companies are London Overground (not their sub-lines) and Goiva-Thameslink (Gatwick Express, Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern). And "London Northwestern" and "West Midlands Railway" are legally the same TOC with two brands.
But you had fun with your sub-brands, but not TOCs!!!

This was such a fun and chaotic ride! Racing across London’s diverse train networks—from the Tube to National Rail and Overground—really shows how interconnected and sometimes unpredictable the system can be. The challenge was a brilliant way to highlight the quirks and surprises of each operator.

Planning & Timing: Did you have a strategy for the fastest routes, or was it more about spontaneity? Some lines are notoriously slow or delayed, so I’m curious how you navigated that.

Unexpected Moments: Were there any surprising encounters or delays that threw a wrench in your plans? It would be interesting to hear about those moments.

Future Challenges: Would you consider doing a similar race but focusing on specific zones or perhaps even incorporating buses and trams into the mix?

In Athens there are two train operating companies: one operates the metro and tram. The other one is owned by Italy and operates intercity trains as well as suburban - regional trains.

Thought of another fun London challenge… all the river crossings on the tube map in the shortest possible time (bear in mind that includes thameslink, overground, dlr, Elizabeth line as well as many tube crossings AND the cable car!

Imagine if Geoff Marshall, GLovesTrains, Sim0nTrains and JenOnTheMove were also included and they would have also joined in the challenge. That would have been even more epic. Plus Matt has done few videos on the Class 379 with his own voice on those trains.

I am confused about the problem with you getting max fared?

Next time, do all, whilst counting the Overground, Elizabeth Line and Underground as one whole TOC.

I think if you book 90+ days in advance the HEX is the same price as the liz line to Heathrow
