Why would you spend $100 on a low-spec device running an emulator instead of installing the emulator on your PC?

I bought a brand new for 50 dollars

i really want the ps2 classic to be a thing but i doubt it will be released , as sony is problably gonna wait for someone to make an emulator for them, and thats not gonna happen

We don't have to buy it ,its easier to download epsxe emulator on PC for free,that's what I think am I right?

I just paid $30 dollars for a NIB PS Classic here in 2020

so in the end this turned out to be a fancy emulator box running pcsxrearmed and with original design controller

i saw multiple systems for the playstation classic for like 30 bucks at a Dollar General Store.
Nobody bought em, until hacking and home-brewing became a thing.

Though Some Of The Games Are PAL It's Actually Good For Me Because I Live In a Country With PAL Televisions And Games But With NTSC Games On It Makes It Kinda Hard To Play Them On a PAL Television

I saw one at Walmart recently and it had no price tag so I asked them to check the price for it and it turned out it was $30 so I figure Yeah I’ll pay $30 to play wild arms again.

So uh... Just get a Raspberry Pi.

I waited for it to get cheaper and cheaper until in feb of '19 it was 59.99$ in walmart but 39.99$ on their website for purchase so i asked if they would price match it to their own online price listing and they did, so to be honest the fact that I got it for 40$ with Persona and other games as a second thought i think it was worth what I paid

There is a method to update the internal emulator. :-)

buying a poor piece of hardware running an emulator just because it was licensed its stupid...
how much would cost a living room android box? with usb controller and emulators? and then you could also install frontends and everything... and still have better experience... not need to 20 steps hacking tricks neither hassle loading the roms...

but i understand the point here is all about hacking the device... which is a useless device, considering you can get even better psx emulation this days in handhelds and even cheaper!

Can you make an update video about the hack scene nowadays?

I tried downloading the Github zip folder and did the process but there is no Games folder, is this still a functioning hack. My PSClassic is the 2018 version from 1st day release. Any advice? TIA

This was such a mess right out of the box but it's so cool after you put a bunch of games on it, given that there's so many games on the PS1 there's bound to be some that most people haven't heard of or seen before.

I got one not TOO long after launch. The price has dropped to $40 and I was about to snag one soon but then Best Buy had them on sale for $20. I immediately ordered and hacked it. Oh, and it's funny you mentioned hotel because I immediately after picking it up went on vacation so I first modded and played it in a hotel on a family vacation, haha.

I bought mine when hack came out, so after that I just retired my PSone as I don't want it's lens to go bad, also It supports HDMI which I wish sony do the same with PS2 (phat) version.

So does the flash drive need to be in fat32 format??

Sony should have added the dualshock, since that controller became a standard and icon for the next 2 generations.

I have this PSClassic, but for games i use Autobleem to put any classic game, include SNES

I got mine from the dollar store for $7... Yeah seven bucks I'm not complaining...🤷 I can't believe that thing didn't come pre-installed with Spyro did it even have tomb raider? I don't remember I didn't play it because the game selection sucks so bad...

I didn't get a PlayStation Classic on launch day but I did buy one eventually for $30 USD. I used BleemSync but there's also Project ERIS. One thing I remember hearing was that there were other games in the source code that were probably planned to be part of the collection and those games were games that are definitely better than the games on it already.

I have no idea why we need such chinese fakes like PlayStation Classic when original PlayStations are still available in working order for same or even less money.

I remember walking into Best Buy and seeing this on sale for $15. I feel for the people that bought this at $100.
