Great technology but only works if you are going at a low speed. Also extreme dust, fog or humidity can confuse the device and makes it think it's an object, causing the car to stop.

We have got quite a few that would be more usefully employed as crash test dummies than hanging around the streets drinking and smoking!

Seriously though, I think that a human driver might have had a better chance of expecting someone to suddenly come out into the road.
A couple of youngsters kicking a ball about are much more likely to dash into the road than a granny with a stick and a shopping bag.  Can the cameras and software tell the difference?

Volvo seems to have a much bolder safety system which will more confidently take control, but if I had a choice between a volvo and a mercedes, I know which one I'd choose! Considering Jaguar (very nice cars) don't have any sort of similar system that I'm aware of at the moment, I'm happy mercedes are putting any time and money into these sorts of systems at all!

what if something is coming or stays on the other lane ? oh, you get f*cked because of these smart system wich changes the lane in the last moment fast without even using turn signals.... yeah, great job MB yo tha real one !!

what about your personal safety and security and Also peace of mind u didn think about that is dangerous too like example a car thief take a hammer and smash the side window and grabs the item and run away what about that but I can say u can prevent this from happening by keep ur side window protected with LLumar 7mil (175 micron) safety and security film but if no money bad luck

I wonder if there is a button to override in the event you are under attack and criminals know they can stop the car by standing in front while others smash side windows. Will it not let you accelerate over an object?
