So today I’ll be bringing one of the African countries to the limelight, you guys should sit back and enjoy.
Mozambique is located in southeast Africa, bordering Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, Madagascar, Malawi, Eswatini, Tanzania and South Africa.
Mozambique has been inhabited for over 10,000 years with the current population of 30,888,034.
Mozambique flag features the green color, black color, yellow color ,white stripes, a red triangle, a yellow star, an open book, a crossed hoe and a rifle.
The green color represents the land, the white peace, the black represents the African continent, the yellow represents the country's resources, the red represent the country struggle for independence, the hoe represents agriculture, the book represents education, the star represents Marxism and internationalism and the rifle represents defense and vigilance.
Mozambique is one of the two countries featuring a firearm and the second one to be Guatemala.
The national anthem was composed by Salomão J. Manhiça. The national anthem was approved by law in 2002, it was titled patria amada meaning beloved homeland.
Portuguese is the most widely spoken language in Mozambique, other spoken languages include Swahili, Makhuwa, Sena, Ndau, and Tswa-Ronga (Tsonga
The Mozambique metical is the authority money of the Republic of Mozambique. The metical was first given in 1980 when it replaced the Mozambican escudo following its autonomy from Portugal. Because of issues with high expansion and financial battles, the new medical eliminated the MZM beginning in 2006 through 2012.
Mozambique was named after an island in Mozambique that got its name from an Arab trader who first visited the island and lived there years later, Mossa Al Bique.

Mozambique island houses a building in the southern hemisphere, this building is believed to be one of the oldest European buildings which was built in 1522, it is called Nossa Senhora de Balaurte.
The first European man to visit Mozambique was a famous explorer known as Vasco da Gama in 1948 .

Bazaruto archipelago is a group of six islands located in Mozambique. The islands include Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magruque, Banque, Santa Carolina( known as paradise Island) and shell island. The island in Mozambique represents one of the UNESCO country’s heritage site.
Mozambique has records of several natural disasters, these disasters includes flooding with the most tragic events in 2008, it killed several hundred and a total of approximately 100,000 people were affected. Mozambique also experienced slave trading which started in the 16th century and was at peak in the 18th and 19th century.
Mozambique is the first country to have witnessed two catastrophic natural disasters in the same season. On 14th March 2009, a tropical cyclone made landfall on the port of beira and then six weeks later, cyclone Kenneth made a landfall at the northern Mozambique with the death toll of 603 and injured 1641 people and over 2 million people were affected. Mozambique is also classified as one of the poorest hungriest and least developed countries.
Mozambique is the home for lake Malawi which is home to several species of fishes. Lake Malawi is the 4th largest freshwater lake in the world by volume, the third largest and the second deepest lake in Africa and the 9th largest lake in the world by a rea. Lake Malawi is also referred to as the calendar owing to its dimension which is 365 miles long and 52 miles wide.
Also the Gorongosa National Park is found in Mozambique. It used to be one of the African best wildlife park
Mozambique’s wildlife has suffered a lot from poachers, in 2013, the last set of rhinos were killed by poachers making them extinct in the country.
