OMG, I watched this unbearable video the other day of this person telling people not to go to Hanoi for all these petty little reasons and it was infuriating. I've traveled quite a bit and I've always felt sketchy about embedding with expat communities because of attitudes like theirs. You on the other hand? You're my peoples!

the young guy didnt know that the pagodas was destroyed in around 1967 - 70 ( called the culture revolution ) . at that time the Vc destroyed near ly all the temples , pagodas and others ritual places in the North , later they blamed the actions to French and the Us .
the Us never bombs Hanoi , cuz Us GI prisioners still in Hoa lo jail at that time . I never heard a bomb inside Hanoi . except Bach mai hospital, but ...Hanoians said that it s a plastic , not a bomb .
