I think there is a lack of kicks in the chorus: this should go to,toka,tokatokatotoka... I think this is why the song is good for beginners because it's a bit of a challenge to hold it for the whole chorus. You removed the only difficulty to it 😂

Eric, see? This is why you're my ultimate all-time favorite drummer!! Nobody can touch your drumming skills in my opinion. You've got it all. Chops for days, groove and pocket for a lifetime. I knew you could play pocket on this song but my previous comment was mainly about how you played the chorus live while that lady was singing. She nailed her part. I just thought the chorus could have had a stronger back beat to help push her vocal even more. Anyway, nothing but love and respect over here. You're STILL my favorite by FAR!!!

Ok, i love you don’t apologize for pocket - a lot of chop fanatics out here and you’re not afraid.
But this song has passion, and you played it with seemingly zero passion. You literally said “it’s boring” and you played like you were so bored with it. That’s my issue with this. Love your fearless pocket, but this song deserved more heart from you. Not chops, but heart. Didn’t come across at all.

Jeez louise people Eric is just having some fun and keeping it light, if you don't like it there's a gazillion drum covers of this exact same song all over the net. If he wanted to he could play it note for note or just shred/chop all over it or basically do whatever he wants with it.
