David I had a question. You have incredible dogs. The thing I love about your dogs is there excited about there work you can tell there hard driving, But they are still completely in control. My question is I'm looking at the way you guys train and wanting to make a bird dog be just as excited but with more control like your dogs have. How do you teach calm and level headed but still keep the excitement?

It is hard to put an "hours" number on what we do. Our dogs are home raised. So, we teach our people how to train the dog as they go though their daily routine. Feeding becomes a training session. Playtime becomes a training session. Potty break becomes a training session. Trip to the store or to pick up the kids at school becomes a training session. But, it takes hundreds of hours to develop a fully trained personal protection dog that is safe with children and yet strong enough to handle a real threat.

im defiantly looking into a dog like this when im a bit older . i love german shepherds but unfortunately , they get a bad name where i live and i think in general . id like my dog not only to be able to protect me but also set a good example of what amazing , smart and friendly dogs German Shepherds really can be

I realize this is three years old, and I truly appreciate the dog's ability... BUT... How is it proven that the dog isn't just reacting to the bite suit? Gunner recognizes the bite suit as a toy he's been taught to bark at and tear into, so as soon as he sees the suit it's game on. <<Not looking to volunteer to be the bad guy without the suit, by the way, lol.

I'm curious what the dog would do if a child ran away from the threat? Would the dog stay with the threat, or go with the child? Also what would happen if the decoy picked up the child (as in an abduction attempt)? Usually I would think most children would run from a threat, but what does the dog do then?
