REPRINT COMING! Pokemon 151 Prices are RISING! Buy Now or Wait?

As a collector and investor, I hope for a reprint so others can enjoy the collection. At the end of the day, it's nice to see my card prices go up but it kinda sucks this won't be an affordable Christmas gift for many.

both English and Japanese 151 are top tier sets! People will still be collecting these in 10-20years

I haven’t been on pokeio in a minute, but when everyone was hyping it, I saw that its data was shaky at best. When I crossed referenced it with both TCG Player and EBay there was a lot of data missing. Thus, in my opinion, it is not a good reference guide.

The POP count for the Monster Ball Pickachu is disturbing considering it will take like 50-60k worth of cards to pull it.

This hobby is infested with speculators and investors...

sets have a reprint window of about 2 years after the initial release and can be reprinted up untill the last minute of that window. on very rare occasions they may even get reprinted after that window. bottom line is dont fomo for a set untill its 2 years old.

Reprints will def hurt the price, sell singles while you can and reload

I honestly think that the demand can’t be met with 151 and the prices show. I never see 151 stocked in the stores and if it does it goes fast 💨 even if the reprint happens guess what… it’s gonna go out of stock fast too. The Set is that Good.

crown zenith came out before 151 and just got a small drop even on pokemon center. Still a possibility of more 151 without a doubt

Might be interesting to also consider the median value when looking at the potential value of a booster box. If the median value is lower than the average, wouldnt that suggest that you are statistically MORE likely to have an outcome where your booster box value is even lower than the average.

Don’t be fooled. This article does not confirm an English reprint, just the fact that a new product is being created. Most likely this is with left over stock. The fact that they specifically state that there will be a Japanese reprint but avoid the verbiage all together for English makes me believe even stronger that there will not be an English 151 reprint.

Obviously every company likes making money, but Pokémon is very strategic on how they make theirs. Think about how easy it would be for them to port the old games to switch, add online battling and a ranking ladder. TAKE MY MONEY. Pokémon forgoes this option, but why? Because they believe it will pull from their new products. With the next special set right around the corner and all the new sets due to be released within the next year (sparks, rocket, trainers) PC will look to push these products onto the surge of new customers, not just have them stuck on 151

Pokémon 151 reminds of when I was a kid collecting base cards. I love the memories. I don’t have much from Pokemon 151. I do have mew but my favorite card and I have in a PSA 10 is the master ball eevee. I would say I am happy about my cards from 151. Great set.
