There is a threat to our old growth forests that not many people are talking about. In most forest restoration projects, this threat is not being addressed. Forests with fuels reduction treatment are supposed to be fire safe. If this problem is not addressed, even prescribed burns could kill the trees. Especially old growth and larger pine trees.
