Im in Zone 7 in West Virginia I will be doing this Thank You!!
ОтветитьThe citrus farmers here have micro jet sprinklers in each tree and it gives them about six degrees of protection. You have to start the sprinklers before the temp goes below freezing and keep the sprinklers on until the temp gets to 37 or above . As groundwater at 68 degrees cools it releases its heat and protects the plant . The ice must remain clear and not cloudy . This is basic agriculture. I learned it at the University of Florida . They follow the exact science when you have hundreds of acres to protect whether it be citrus, strawberries or tomatoes etc .
ОтветитьWater doesn't release heat, but absorbs cold. When you spray water in very cold air, it absorbs cold until freezing. Exactly like when you heat water, it absorbs heat until boiling.
ОтветитьDoesn’t rain foul blossoms?
Ответить22F tomorrow and I have 5 peach trees and 1 beautiful plum.

ОтветитьThank you much appreciated advice!!
ОтветитьWhat happens if you have heavy wind and frost is expected early morning hours. Will the wind dry off the water? I’ve lost my blueberry crop two years in a row because of a late frost😢
