How many minutes of 6k raw fit on whatever card you were using? What about 4k raw? I assume there are no settings to adjust raw compression (like RED).

Are there any settings you can change for the EIS? Also how much does the EIS crop the sensor?

Really fantastic and through comparison video! the c500 mii has me very interested as I love working on the c200. though, i am very surprised the sensor stabilization won't be usable shooting in CRM. feels like a wasted opportunity.

The highlight rolloff on the C200 looks better IMO to the C500mk2

Great info, thanks! Are all frame rates supported in S16 mode? On my C300mkII I can't shoot 23.98 in S16. Does the proxy recording work will all resolutions and frame rates? Another issue with my C300 is log footage playing back with no LUT / view assist applied. Has this been fixed on the C500mkII?

I really want to love the C500II, but from what I've seen so far...I'm just not feeling it.

Would love to see it in a studio situation shooting products etc. Haven't ever seen a test about using a Canon Cinema in a studio setting for commercials etc.

Could you do a calculation - how long can you record on CFexpress using the Canon battery (BP-A30 and BP-A60) in both XFAVC as well as RAW and show us the costs for media based on those record times etc and is it a cost savings vs the original CFast cards?

Hi there, wonderful video with tons of tests. Really enjoying how colors have less way magenta on skin tones (something I absolutely dislike about the c300mk2 and c200 sensors). My question is about fan noise- one of the worst things about the original C500 is how quickly the fan would turn on during an interview. Did you experience any loud fans going off during your use/long takes? Thanks!

I wish there were normal handheld test shots for the IBIS (ie. documentary b-roll of a person working in a room), hard to tell from shooting from a car because unless you're on a gimbal or maybe shoulder mounted there's no way that's going to look good with any amount of stabilization.

Really want to like the C500MII by all means, but it's just amazing what a ~10 year old sensor from Arri does in comparison.

Is it just me or does the C200 colors look a lot closer to the Arri than the C500 II? Colors look a bit greener to me.

so while i understand the desire to compare everything against the mini - how does anyone expect the c500 or even the c200 to compare? mini kit is $71k the 500 $25k and the 200 $15k - is love to see a compassion between RED, FX9 and perhaps S1H - the Arri is so FAR above ANYTHING - how does someone with $20k make a real choice?

If you'd be interested in doing more comparisons, I'd love to see a field test of the alexa mini and c500mkii.

For example, a one minute project (short film, commercial, music video, your choice) utilizing the raw formats of each camera, same lens, same lighting with free reign to make adjustments to make each camera shine on its own, and then color grading it to make the footage both match and look the best that it can look. Then finish it off with a comparison and discussion on the experience with each camera in production and in post, budget comparison when each camera is rigged in the way that suits it best, which one was easier to light or color grade, things like that. You can decline, but I think it would be a fun test haha.

Looking for a cinema quality, is this a true cinema quality images as is Alexa?
