Hi all. I notice a plastic idler gear in the photos of the motor, is that the oil pump drive? I hope this is made of better material than the KTM/husqvarna ones that killed hundreds of engines. Mine died with less than 100hrs on the motor and with it being maintained spot on,KTM modified the part without giving a recall which would have saved so much money for owners.I believe KTM for 2024 are getting rid of the plastic gear? Is that a prototype part or full production part?
Good luck with this project it will be great to see your brand racing back on the dirt.
Just show the bike already. Enough of the BS
ОтветитьTo me, that 250 motor looks like a rebranded KTM. The cases and head are WAY too similar
ОтветитьIf it's made in India or China I'm not buying, if it's made in Europe I'll probably get one
ОтветитьIf you want to sell bikes and make a marketing home run….sign Deagan now!
ОтветитьBeyond excited to see this go. excited for a 450 down the road.
Ответитьwhats next a video showing hose clamps ,8mm bolts and zip ties?
ОтветитьI mean in seems like this bike has bunch of lil parts from every model and y’all say it has its own identity it probably looks like shit or to much futuristic but it’s definitely taking to long and don’t think this bike will last long either and the engine look identical to a ktm don’t know where it has it’s own identity
ОтветитьGood to see some western engineering. Can't wait to see it race
ОтветитьCan't wait for episode two thousand five hundred and twenty six.........when they reveal the clutch plates 👍
And if you are lucky enough you might even get a quick glimpse of the sump plug.
Its going to be his 2004 kx125 unveiled.
Suckas made you look
Can't wait to see it finally, I've been enjoying the suspense it's like going to a candy shop but that one thing that stands out this is that giant piece of candy you want lol but I won't buy it because it's probably going to be super expensive I mean just look at how KTM is selling the same bike for more than their base bike I mean look at the price of a Husqvarna or a gas gas , rather buy a KTM because it's cheaper and got everything all the other have , they just re sold their own bike , one with lowered suspension and one a little bit under powered ... I mean if you're willing to pay go for it
ОтветитьIt’s time for the 3rd video, let’s go! We can’t wait to see the bike!!
ОтветитьWill there be something in the range of a supermoto?
ОтветитьDon't put a Engine into production with the same Horse Power as the competition it needs to be 50+ HP plus + the power of the 450 in a smaller bike then the 450 needs more than 63HP at least 70HP before it goes into production
If Ricky could get it to turn like a Suzuki that wouldn't be a bad thing with the stability of the Honda 49 - 52mm forks
Make a 2 stroke……….
ОтветитьTriumph have announced two new sponsors.....Rich Energy and Bud Light.
ОтветитьLet's just talk about ourselves for 5 minutes instead of the engine..
ОтветитьToday is september 5 ….
ОтветитьToday is 5 September. Where is the GOAT riding video?
ОтветитьEric Buell was building a Competative 500 CC Two Stroke GP Bike .. Kenny Roberts had already built an Amazing 500 CC Two Stroke bike called the Proton then the AMA up and changed the rules allowing 1,000 CC Four Strokes to compete against 500 CC Two Strokes.
Two strokes have a power valve on the exhaust port for better low end power.. 4 Strokes can use Variable cam timing.
Mad respect to Triumph for heading in this direction, this is your time now, lets make this next generation be the Triumph generation.
ОтветитьI think it's awsum
ОтветитьSo it's a dirt bike.lol.come on guys.numbers tell all
Ответитьthat's a lot of marketing talk. no real substance
ОтветитьWe want endurance test of recently launched speed 400 in Indian road conditions for 16k km service interval. Cause you people claimed this. Please show us whether your engines are capable of doing this. We would be pleased to see. Also please do a test like for how many kilometres can this speed 400 keep riding at top speed continuously till the engine breaks down during both summer and winter season.
ОтветитьShame on Triumph for wasting my time with this show about nothing.
Ответитьwhat's price
ОтветитьBobby did a great job with JA and Husky, he should be a very solid element along with Ivan and Ricky from a racing perspective.
ОтветитьThis is so awesome!!!
ОтветитьMan for four strokes i like 250 limiters more. And that thing sounds amazing! Even in the final test video! And they did a great job filming the bike without giving away how it looks completely!
Ответить50 hp ?
ОтветитьHow to confess: We licensed the engine from KTM - without actually saying: We licensed the engine from KTM!
ОтветитьWhen do we get to see em
ОтветитьShould've went 2 stroke
ОтветитьI hope it's not made Obsolete in 5 years by Electric bikes.. I was Happy with two strokes..
ОтветитьIt doesn't take a genius. They basically took a ktm engine and put it on a yamaha frame.
ОтветитьIts a TRIUMPH and they don't mess with second rate designs. It will be great like those much loved 765 Moto 2 engines
ОтветитьIt is similar to ktm 250cc i wonder why
Ответитьhow about the parts availability?
ОтветитьOmg what a sausage fest, still none of the wiser about the engine.
ОтветитьTriumph please make some 2 stokes also lol
ОтветитьWould not like to be an engineer there. Working all day long with PTC Creo🤣
ОтветитьWaiting for a 2-Stoke 🤔💥💥🏆
ОтветитьSure nuff looks like a trip to moto3 may be in triumphs future
ОтветитьIs a 450 Coming ?? Hope so
Ответитьthe new dirt bike it goes in looks truly amazing
ОтветитьVideo shows NOTHING about the actual engine design.
ОтветитьSo we have to wait until September 5th to see this thing run...
ОтветитьPersonally, after my experience with a 2001 955 Sprint ST sport tourer, I will NEVER buy another Triumph motorcycle.
1) From day 1, the exhaust was incredibly hot, actually burning thru the lower right side fairing. At the first post purchase service including valve lash adj. and flashing an updated engine map they found ALL exhaust valve clearance at less than minimum. Several attempts were made to update the engine map but the installed Sagen computer would not allow communication with the factory diagnostic tool.
2) Anytime ridden more than 65 mph, the right side exhaust temps were so hot, the bike was uncomfortable to ride. Engine coolant temps were perfect but...there was no doubt the exhaust temps were very high, suggesting anything beyond 6,000 rpm the engine was going very, very lean.
Wrapping the entire exhaust with heat resistant header material did little to prevent the uncomfortably high temps burning my right leg. Often I'd be seen standing on the pegs to relieve the discomfort.
3) A local Ducati/Apprilia shop that does a lot of race prep work confirmed the upper rpm/lean AFR with their 4 gas exhaust analyzer. Their attempts to communicate with the ECU also failed.
4) At the local Triumph dealer hopefully prepping for an Iron Butt Riders 'Butt Burner 1000', the valve lash was non existent, confirming the valves had "tulipped" so deeply in the valve seats because of the high combustion temps. Their diagnostic tool could not communicate with the ECU.
They also took notice of a clattering sound on the left side alternator drive. It was easy to read from the mechanics body language and comments they know what was happening, and the cause. Once home, with the alternator and rubber cush drive removed, found that ALL but 7 ball bearings for the alt. drive were missing. The only place for them to go is into the engine sump/transmission gears.
5) Opposite side, with the clutch removed, found most of the needle bearings missing, again the only place they could go was the engine oil sump and transmission gears. Removing the oil pan, found most but not all of the missing ball and needle bearings. Meaning the unaccounted for ball/needle bearings were floating around in the transmission somewhere??
The bearing assembly pockets are only accessible from the inside of the engine cases. Replacement requires engine R/R, cases split in order to do this. Is this the owners responsibility to do this with the attendant labor costs on a 1 year old motorcycle???
6) Numerous attempts to contact via email, US mail and phone calls to talk with Triumph NA warranty dept. and executive officers went unanswered.
7) The Ducati/Triumph Orange county CA, service manager told me "If you bring that engine, set it on my desk with a blank check, I will not touch it." The local San Diego dealer told me they'd give $1.000 as a trade in for another Sprint ST. Barely a year old, pristine condition, the best they'd do is the $1K trade in value for a like model with possibility of the same problems again.
8) Predicted cost to repair this...new cyl. head, new cross shaft trans/clutch/ alternator drive and new ECU would exceed the total value of the motorcycle.
Will I ever buy another Triumph motorcycle??? Never. I learned the dealerships and the importer will not support their product, refuse to help in any way.
