The overwhelming obsession to punish wrongdoers is clearly at the heart of this Star Trek episode. Very powerful morality tale.

The opening of this episode scared me when I first saw it as a kid. I expected Dr. Leighton to get unmasked at some point, and for his face to be horrible underneath. That never happened, but Star Trek had scared me before, notably with the Salt Vampire.

It's 'learns' NOT "learnings"

Kind of like hi. tler. Supposedly passed in the end of WWII. But no positive id on the remains and eyewitness testimonies indicate he was alive and well in Brazil long after the war. Even the fbi believed that he was there enough to send agents to look around and interview witnesses.

This plot is bonkers. What sort of idiot wanted through the Federation would become a stage actor and travel the Federation in front of crowds.

What doesn't make sense is how there were only 8 or 9 eyewitnesses when 1/2 of the population of 8000 people were killed. How can only 8 or 9 of 4000 people be witnesses?
