The difference with a Berkey is their plastic filters sit in the bottom reservoir soaking in water. Defeats the purpose of buying a stainless steel tank system.
ОтветитьAny update on this system for water filter
ОтветитьThank you. Does this filter affect the water pH? Reverse Osmosis reduces pH so not great. Thanks
ОтветитьHow much do the fliters kost?
ОтветитьI would never contaminate this with hose water... That's literally the worst! What a strange thing to do...
ОтветитьI've just ordered one of these. It should arrive tuesday. I got a decent black friday deal.
ОтветитьIs this compatible with the Berkey’s PF-2 flouride removal filter
ОтветитьI used to have an American Berkey which tasted amazing. I bought this a week ago, primed the candle filters and washed the residue off with water, I let the filters run through several litres of water but I can still taste a horrible acidic taste of the water. What am I doing wrong ? Does it need more filtering? It’s literally day 3 and I have filled and drained the thing several times in a day. I miss the Berkey 😭
ОтветитьGive everything a wash with hot soap and water before assembly.
Except for the filters...of course!
In the USA thanks needed these to replace my Berkeys🇱🇷✌️
ОтветитьAs you say the supplied tap is not great. The first time I turned the tap on it worked ok. But when I tried to fill another jug up I got just a dribble!
ОтветитьThanks Mike, just perfect⭐
ОтветитьI use a water distiller butmight buy one as a back up
ОтветитьDoes it take out PFAS and the other forever chemicals?
ОтветитьWhat made you choose that over the phoenix for example?
Ответить"What you are putting in your body rather than on your body" - great comment! 👍
ОтветитьBrilliant bit of kit with testing to back it up. No regrets on mine. Doulton appear more transparent than other brands and have been in the business a long time.
ОтветитьHi, Thanks for your video. The water is filtering too slow, is nearly 5 hours since filling it and the water hasn’t gone through yet. What have I done wrong?
Thank you for helping!
I’ve just bought the same one and I’m doing the first filter but it’s been draining for 9 hours and only half way, that’s not right surely
ОтветитьDoes this have a water type taste, I’m tempted but I hate the taste of water
ОтветитьI'm in Bristol too. Brislington, and don't like the taste of the tap water. I have noticed that the water gets more of a clorinated taste in pipes down near the Avon somehow.
Something to bare in mind is that you could akways get a second one if this one is too small, it would mean you could clean one and still have access to water. Also you could move them when full so if you wanted to spend the day in the garden you could take one outside with you and leave the other inside
Need scientific test
ОтветитьHi Mike. With the world been in the unstable way that it is right now what is in your opinion is the best filters for this system to get rid of toxins, chloramines, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, heavy metals, and other harmful elements in the water. Thank you!!
ОтветитьMike, thank you for your informative video. I've heard that coal filters such as Berkey's are better than ceramic. Your findings please.
ОтветитьGreat video. Just bought one of these. Hare you still using yours? How are you finding it? Just a note - the instructions say not to wash the ceramic filter before use.
Ответитьbeen thinking about this product for too long and drinking my dirty old brita water, youve answered a load of my questions and i'm ready to 'take the plunge', so to speak! so thanks for that. Did you ever make your deep dive filter options review?
ОтветитьYour thoughts on the class action lawsuit against Berkey filters?
ОтветитьHave you any third party water testing results you can share? There are many for the Berkey but none I can find for the Doulton - (your filter.)
ОтветитьWhat is the size (mm?) of the steel spigot you purchased separately?
Thank you 🙏
Hi. What filter do you recommend for hard water? Thanks
ОтветитьHey, thanks for this review. I purchased a berkefeld. I was wondering if you know any other good sites to purchase the fluoride candles sticks from? They are not available to buy on amazon at the moment. Thanks again!
ОтветитьIve just got one of these, to replace the electric distiller. Just noticed to replace the ultra SS candles with ultra fluoride ones is gonna cost around £69 ouch! But fluoride is my main reason for filtering so will deffo be changing. Really like this so far, haven’t tested the water yet. Thanks for great video 👍🏻
ОтветитьGreetings from Southern California, thanks for the update on these filters, I am trying these today in my Big Berkey, hoping they work as well as the Berkey black filters.
ОтветитьI also purchased the berkerfield SS but it seems to have a problem. You said it could hold like 8 liters on top and bottom. But when the bottom is full of filters water the top parts start to overflow.. it seems it can't hold the the top part when the bottom is full, is that normal?
ОтветитьI watched all the way through and you mentioned that you'd make more videos on this but the only one I can find by using the YT search bar is a recent one from around 3 weeks ago but it was to do with cleaning it.
I'm thinking about buying one but I have some questions. 1) I don't know about Bristol but does it remove a lot of the chlorine taste? Where I am the taste for me is really bad to the point that I originally stopped drinking water outside of hot drinks and some years later started buying bottled water to be a bit more healthy. 2) Do you know where I could buy a food grade spig? The ones you've linked seem a bit iffy (on Ebay, not your links are iffy) and a lot of them are coming up as spring loaded. I've heard a lot of bad reviews being primarily linked the the plastic spig.
Ooh, a quick price check, assuming changing filters every 6 months, initial unit cost £130 with 2 filters and 2x filters £40(ish) first year cost 23p a litre (ruff approximation) so year 2 costs 10p per litre assuming 2 litres per pay every day. I pay 17p for 2 litres spring water(aldi, morrisons) albeit I have to carry 4x bottles on my ebike and the all consuming plastic issue, if that is offset by our local council and recycled. It could save me the arduousness of carrying bottles into my old age😢
ОтветитьJust set mine up last night have filtered it through once, but the TDS reading is still high, will filter through again have changed over from the zerowater jug system.
ОтветитьWill the flouride filters for the Berkey be usable in the Berkefeld system too?
ОтветитьI purchased one of these last year and have just got round to setting it up...well, my partner did 😊 (last night) .. it seems to take a very long time for the water to drain from the top section into the bottom section.. is this normal? 🤔 I'm still waiting for the initial flush out to complete
Ответитьcan you add flouride filter?
ОтветитьHas anyone used the Berkefeld with Wrekin all in one filters? They claim to filter out fluoride plus everything the Sterasyl filters do.
ОтветитьKlar water filter jugs take almost every nasty out of your water also micro plastics.
Ответитьthanks for this :)
ОтветитьI worked out that we go through about £450 a year on bottled water a year, been buying for almost 13 years..almost £6000.
Today I get a water filter! How are you finding it after the month?
Great video, thanks Mike.
ОтветитьWe use a water filter, certainly improves the water.
