It's funny how the Poles have such deep seated and extreme hatred for Russia, while cozying up to Germany after everything that has happened in the past. All German war crimes against Poland are forgiven, and forgotten, as long as Germany can provide some form of defense or comfort against Putin.

Germany and Japan are often condemned for their war crimes while victor nations are seldom censured for brutal acts against civilians of defeated nation such as A-bombings, fire bombings on Tokyo and Dresden etc. The Katyn Massacre was a heinous crime against humanity which has been covered up until recently just because a victor country has committed. Victor nations are always righteous even if they commit wrongdoings against losers. But we have to keep in mind that former victor nations of World War II are committing war crimes which we should never turn blind eyes.

The murderers are described as "Soviets." Of course, they were nearly all Russians. What Russians are doing now in Ukraine is nothing new. Russians have been invading, terrorizing, and abusing their neighbors for centuries. It is a part of their culture.

Tragically, the current Russian dictator, Putin (The Poison Dwarf) is as evil as Stalin. The poor Russian people have no freedom of speech whilst Putin's cronies enrich themselved. What a pity no soldier has the nerve or ability to shoot the bastard. Once again, it's the general public who suffer. Please someone, do something. May, 2023.

Thank Joe Stalin for WW2. Hitler could not have invaded Poland without a nonaggression pact with Russia. Joe Stalin got 1/3 of Poland out of the deal. At the Nuremberg trials, Russia wanted charges against the Nazis for the Katyn Massacre, but other allies wouldn't agree. It was only in Gorbachev's time that Russia admitted responsibility for Katyn - after blaming the Nazis for 40 years 👎

I actually think a threaty would be possible, but maybe the nazis believed they were not being attacked in enough fronts and that helped on their downfall.

I was raised with this Katyn story. My father served as a translator for the Soviet army and he was there and saw the soviet army scramble to bury the bodies in the woods to hide any evidence. There was a lot of hush hush. After the war when he would tell people of this atrocity, nobody believed him. It wasn't until after the iron curtain went down that this actually came out.

And the UK, USA etc knew of this massacre yet no declaration of war or invasion of the USSR. Germany also never knew about the Katyn massacre.

As a Polish-American I'm familiar with Polish history. Not many people know of our tragedies or triumphs.

I was able to visit this site 10 years ago whilst working in Ukraine…visiting a clothing company manufacturing for my then employer…this is what the company boss and interpreter told me..not my words theirs…they took me to a destroyed WW2 site first nearby..and explained “this site was a huge underground complex that had an underground runway that allowed planes to take off inside and only be visible for a few moments before takeoff…saying it was built by the 22,000 polish prisoners who once it was finished were marched across to the forest site and massacred by the Germans in order to keep it secret”…this is what they were taught and believed…when I got home I did some research and found out the truth as we know it now…when I emailed them and explained and included links to Wikipedia showing the 1990 revaluations….they replied no it was the Germans who did this…unfortunately as the old saying goes…you can take a horse to water but you can’t make it drink it !!! Again repeating “these where their words not mine” 😢😢😢😢

I have Polish heritage and it's always crazy to learn about what some of my relatives had to go through. Luckily the line of my family that I came from moved to the US in the early 1900s, but there were most certainly some still there when this shit happened.

Even tho Poland didn't have a lot of tanks to counter Germany, there was one Polish tank commander operating the seemingly useless TKS-20 tankette, but he managed to destroy many German tanks with it.

You know it was determined the massacre took place in 1941 when Germany occupied that area. German bullets were the ones used to kill them and himlers memoirs pretty much out right admitted it. I know it's hard to believe the super reliable and moral army of the nazis would fabricate something to try to create dissent with the allies and try to stop assistance to the soviets bit they were just recently able to determine they were killed in 1941
