Dr. Bryanskaya (1930 -2018 ) had been referred to as "The Teacher of Teachers". She was a professor of Piano and Piano Pedagogy at the Leningrad Conservatory in Russia, and later taught at the Longy Conservatory of Music in Massachusetts. Her doctoral thesis "Formation and Development of Pianist's Sight Reading Skills in the Early Stages of Musical Training" led to the creation of integrated method of teaching the piano and publishing of numerous books in the U.S. and many other countries. She was a frequent lecturer and performer of the course for the Advanced Training for Teachers of Music Schools, Colleges, and Conservatories in former Soviet Union, and in many European countries as well as in U.S. This project was created by Alexander Izbitser and Yelena Prizant with generous support of Dr. Bryanskaya's friends and former students, as well as her granddaughter. To us, her friends and students, her legacy is enormous, her passion for teaching will continue helping many generations of piano teachers in this country and beyond through her The Key to Music Making piano method.
