This is the premise of a concept album a made a couple years ago...The Harlot and the Bride. It's the tale of two cities in a sense.
ОтветитьFrom 'A Dictionary of Scripture Proper Names' by J. B. Jackson, Babylon means confusion (by mixing).
ОтветитьMoscow is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth. This is why Bolsheviks are planted in every government. "The beast" that Babylon rides is likely that rαcε that LARPs as JεωiςΗ. You look like one of them. I mean you really do lοοκ 100% ςεΜΙτΙκ. This is why you want to control the dissemination of God's Word. You are ηοτ God's offspring.
"The last book of the Bible" is not hard to understand because one only needs the whole Bible to understand the events of the last days. But your kind can't εηdυrε the whole Bible.
I especially want to point out Revelation 2:9 and 3:9. Jesus Christ knew that your people would be LARPing as the hοιγ rαςε during this time. How amazing, and how righteous, of Him, to warn His own people of the abuses of the fακε Jεωs. Read it: After all of your slander against the Ηοιγ rαςε, you will all be forced to admit who we are and you will prostrate yourselves at our feet.
Start practicing, ΑςΙατΙκ. 👍🏻
So your interpretation is The Great Babylon is not a country or region but rather an ethos of Godlessness? Rev. 18:9-24 seems to speak of a physical place, sailors looking at the smoke that has arose from her and so on. Can you give sources for your interpretation? Thanks.
ОтветитьSorry, but Chad Bird is wrong, he doesn't correctly understand what Babylon the Great actually is. In the symbolism of Revelation, Babylon the Great is referred to as a “great city,” a “kingdom” that rules other kings. (Rev. 17:18) Like a city, it would have many organizations within it; and like a kingdom that includes other kings in its domain, it would be international in scope.
It is described as having relations with political rulers and contributing much to the wealth of men in commerce, while itself being a third element that “has become a dwelling place of demons” and a persecutor of “prophets and of holy ones.”—Rev. 18:2, 9-17, 24.
An ancient cuneiform inscription reads: “Altogether there are in Babylon 53 temples of the chief gods, 55 chapels of Marduk, 300 chapels for the earthly deities, 600 for the heavenly deities, 180 altars for the goddess Ishtar, 180 for the gods Nergal and Adad and 12 other altars for different gods.”—Quoted in The Bible as History (New York, 1964), W. Keller, p. 301.
Babylon the Great is symbolic of the world's false religions, those that are not preaching truths but have polluted their beliefs with false teachings that are lies. Many of their doctrines are adopted from pagan religions and the most reprehensible faction of the "harlot" is CHRISTENDOM!
Her doctrines dishonor God and are blasphemous, lies that portray God as a vengeful monster who would torture people for eternity! They will all be destroyed just as Revelation 17 and 18 describe.
A woman riding a scarlet-colored wild beast. She is portrayed as a “great prostitute” and is called “Babylon the Great.” She commits “sexual immorality” with “the kings of the earth.” (Rev. 17:1-5) Who is “Babylon the Great”? This woman cannot represent a political organization because she is spoken of as committing immorality with the world’s political leaders. (Rev. 18:9) In fact, she endeavors to control these rulers, symbolically riding them. Additionally, she cannot represent the greedy commercial elements of Satan’s world. These are portrayed separately as “the merchants of the earth.” (Rev. 18:11, 15, 16) Ancient Babylon was a center of false worship. So, then, Babylon the Great must represent all forms of false worship. In fact, she is the world empire of false religion.—Rev. 17:5, 18
