Remedy (Documentary Preview)

“Remedy” documents the journey to recovery for former U.S. Air Force combat photographer Steve Otero as he deals with the physical and mental injuries resulting from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. On his own path of healing and self-discovery, Steve learned the best medicine he could find was natural – peace found in the great outdoors. Based on personal experience of ingesting a daily dose of near-lethal prescribed medicines that led to depression and a suicide attempt, he’s now pursuing a doctorate in neuroscience in order to prove that time in the outdoors prescribed as an alternative treatment is actually more effective for veterans battling PTSD and other injuries than narcotics prescribed by doctors. Will he be able to prove the wilderness is actually the best “Remedy”?
