How Engine Lubrication System Works

A best video ever for the lubrication system

Thank you i learned a lot from this. Main thing i get now is piston lube wasn't sure how it got onto the walls and piston without (normally anyways) being burned/contaminated. (Before this i thought it somehow went in up top.)

How does the very top piston (compression) ring get properly lubricated? Seems like it sees very little oil but must deal with the high stresses of combustion.

That’s why you should never rev the the cold started engine it’s because the oil takes 3 mins to recirculate inside the engine. If you rev it right after the engine started, it might cause wear between the moving metal parts since the oil doesn’t have much time to circulate and lubricate the metal contacts together.

what about engines that don't have piston oil squirters?

most engines dont have those spouts to spray oil though
